Cameron headed out with the Urban Adventures group to the Old Melbourne Gaol on Thursday!

Cam explored all the cells on the bottom level, listening to the stories and history being read to him. Although the Gaol isn’t the most wheelchair-friendly place, Cam still enjoyed taking in all the incredible stories from Melbourne’s past.

He even got into two of the old isolation cells… where staff “locked” him in for the full experience!

The highlight of the day?
Cam wearing the replica Ned Kelly armour — and of course posing with the famous Ned Kelly quote:
“Ah well, I s’pose.”

For a moment there, it looked like Cameron might have been the most wanted criminal in Melbourne!

What an adventure!

Over the weekend, our incredible support workers Lauren and Georgia had their very first market stall at Ballam Park — selling all their beautiful handmade goodies! 🎉🧵✨

Fun fact: Lauren and Georgia actually learned to sew just three years ago right here at C2A. They taught themselves because they wanted to start a sewing group for participants. Fast forward to today and the Habby Hub has become one of our most popular programs! Not only have they taught countless participants how to sew, but they’ve also passed on their skills to other DSWs at the Frankston Hub. 💛
We are so proud of their creativity, passion and dedication.

Here are some pics from their gorgeous market set-up — and a huge thank you to all our team members and participants who stopped by to visit and show their support! 🫶🎄🛍️

✨ Piece by Piece Mosaic Program Update! ✨

Wow — look at these incredible works in progress! We are so close to finishing our mosaics, and our participants have put in so much effort over the past five weeks. It just goes to show… good things really do take time.
This has been such a successful program, and every participant has shared how much they’ve loved being part of it.

Here’s a sneak peek at what we’ve been creating:
Ed’s piece – a gorgeous teddy bear with a vibrant rainbow background.
Robert’s piece – a Star Wars–inspired Yoda holding a lightsaber, with plans for a black sky filled with yellow stars.
Marie’s piece – her all-time favourite character, Stitch from Lilo & Stitch, surrounded by floral details representing the small Hawaiian island of Kauai.
Nic’s piece – a rockstar dinosaur wearing red glasses and singing into a microphone.

Each mosaic is completely unique, and every week our participants add their own special touches that make their artwork truly shine.
We can’t wait to share the final results with you in the coming weeks — stay tuned! ✨

Here’s Roslyn putting the finishing touches on her apron, and of course, she chose a horse-themed fabric because she loves anything horses! 🐴

Roslyn was supported on a trip to Spotlight where she browsed a range of fabrics and confidently selected the perfect horsey print.
Over the past few weeks, Roslyn and the group have been working hard to create practical kitchen sets, including oven mits, placemats, coasters and aprons — all in their own choice of fabrics.

Doesn't her apron look fabulous!

🎨✨ Our Creative Arts program has been busy experimenting with mediums we’ve never used before!

Acrylic pouring has been raved about for years as a simple yet stunning art technique, and we decided it was finally time to give it a try.

Troy and Melissa worked together to create these beautiful, one-of-a-kind cell art pieces, embracing creativity, teamwork, and a bit of artistic magic along the way.

Check out the process below and see how these unique artworks came to life!

The group has been working hard on creating their very own kitchen sets, including placemats, coasters, aprons, and oven mitts.

This project has been a work in progress over the past few weeks, and these are just a few progress shots captured along the way. The dedication, creativity, and effort really shine through.

We can’t wait to share the final results soon! 👀👏

What's trending? Our Trending Now program is a program centred around trying out trends, past and present. Recently, clients decided to have a go at making their own polymer clay magnets after seeing them all over TikTok.

What we discovered about this activity is that not only are polymer clay magnets the cutest little customisable things ever, it's also a wonderful mindfulness activity that promotes relaxation, creativity and focus.

Look at how they turned out!

Just thought we’d share a beautiful moment captured at one of our recent Mix & Mingle outings!
Here is Chelsea posing with the giant Christmas tree at General Public — this was after a fun night out at Moondog Beach Club for dinner, followed by a stop for some authentic Greek desserts.

We absolutely love capturing memories like this.

One Sunday each month, Chelsea attends her 1:1 support shift at the Mount Eliza Op Shop — and she absolutely loves it! 🛍️

Chelsea is a dedicated and hardworking volunteer. From the moment she arrives to the moment she finishes, she gives her very best. But what she enjoys most is interacting with members of the community and being part of the busy, friendly environment.

If you ever spot Chelsea at the op shop on a Sunday, feel free to stop by and say hello — she would love a chat! 😊

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the Habby Hub! 🎄✨

Over the first few weeks of December, our participants have been hard at work creating their very own one-of-a-kind fabric Christmas trees. Each participant selected their favourite fabric designs, was supported to trace and cut out their pieces, and then operated the sewing machine with assistance from our DSWs.

As you can see, the results are absolutely incredible, and these handmade trees are something participants can proudly display in their homes every Christmas. ❤️🧵
A big thank you to all the participants involved. Your creativity, enthusiasm, and passion for sewing are truly admirable!

Dan, Marvin, Cam and Troy have been busy putting the final finishing touches on their Christmas Reindeer woodwork project 🎄🦌

So much care, teamwork and pride has gone into every detail, and the end result is something to be truly proud of. We love seeing creativity come to life, especially when it’s made with such dedication and festive spirit!

Great work Crew!
