🌟 You know, it's surprising how many of us give up our power by thinking we don't have any. But, the truth is, our voices are incredibly powerful! 💪🏿

They have the ability to bring about real change in our society, especially when it comes to addressing racism.

Sharing our stories and putting ourselves out there, that's what helps get our voices heard and recognised to bring about change. In the pages of history, countless individuals have proven this power 🗣️✨

At Maya Cares, we're dedicated to this very cause. Report your experiences to Maya (https://hubs.la/Q027FTGg0) and we will gather your stories for future advocacy.

🤐 Microaggressions are more common than you'd believe – subtle comments that carry hurtful messages towards marginalised groups 🗣️

These tiny cuts can take a toll on our well-being, like a thousand paper cuts. Let's not dismiss them.

Creating safe spaces to share experiences and learning is then crucial to fight against it.

Explore resources featured on Maya Cares (https://hubs.la/Q027FVz-0) to understand and recognise microaggressions rather than dismissing their impact on us.

REPOST TILES FROM

Seerut K. Chawala's words resonate with the overwhelming emotions in our hearts.

Our hearts are breaking. It's agonising that for 75 years innocent children that should be basking in the warmth of school, delighting in play, are instead living in the relentless shadow of fear.

It is a real-time tragedy that begs the question: have we not learned from the pages of history? How can we stand by as such a grievous injustice unfolds?

Violence can never, and will never find a valid excuse. It defies the boundaries of humanity, leaving indelible scars.

We urge you to with whatever you can donate, to donate to Palestine. They need us now.

This is the bare minimum - keep
kids out of jails and prisons. If you don't
understand why, take a gander at In My

Story. Our children are sacred and raising
the age of criminal responsibility to 14 is a
practical and evidence-based step we can
take to protect children now. Let's learn
from the mistakes of our past.

🖤‍☀️‍❤️ Are we centring First Nations voices on the Voice?

Check out some of the First Nations perspectives and quotes below:

❤️ “We have a simple truth here: believe it or not, Aboriginal people know what’s best for Aboriginal people. All we want is a say in our own affairs, not a veto, not an advantage over others. We want a fair go. And a voice will help us get it.”
- Pat Turner, CEO of the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO)

❤️ “This isn't just about the past it's about the future, our voices deserve to be heard in the decisions that shape our lives of our children, our grandchildren.”
-Aunty Violet Sheridan

❤️ “The Voice is proving to be a destructive distraction from the government taking action right now to implement UNDRIP and bring Australia in line with the most basic human rights standards for First People.”
-Lidia Thorpe, Australian independent politician

❤️ “I remain an undecided vote, and I feel stuck. Voting yes means putting my faith in people and systems who have never earned that trust and are unlikely to ever do so. Simultaneously, voting no feels like giving in to rabid racists....”
