😴 The sleep cycle, also known as the circadian rhythm, is the body's internal clock that regulates the timing of sleep and wakefulness.

🌝 It is a 24-hour cycle that is influenced by light and darkness, and it helps to coordinate our sleep and wake cycles with the natural rhythm of the day.

💤 Maintaining a consistent sleep schedule in alignment with your body's circadian rhythm can help you get better sleep. When your body is in sync with the natural cycle of light and darkness, it is better able to produce the hormones and neurotransmitters necessary for sleep, and it becomes easier to fall asleep and stay asleep.

☀️ Additionally, by keeping a consistent sleep schedule and exposing yourself to natural light during the day you can help regulate your circadian rhythm, which can lead to better sleep, improved mood, and overall better health.

💙Circadian rhythm also helps in regulating many physiological functions such as body temperature, hormone production, and metabolism. So, by regulating your circadian rhythm you can also regulate these functions, which ultimately lead to better sleep and overall health.

Does journaling actually work?

Well I suppose it depends who you ask.

For me, it is one of the best techniques I use to help manage my feelings of a 'racing mind'.

But do you want to know the best part about journaling? You can tailor the style of journaling to suit whatever works best for you!

✨ For me journaling feels like I am freeing up space in my mind by getting my thoughts out onto paper. As my mind is constantly racing thinking about the 10000 things I want to do the next day, I use my journal to write a 'to-do' list for the next day. It literally feels like I am freeing up space in my mind as I transfer the thoughts out of my head and onto the paper, ready to be revisited and actioned in the morning.

✨ Journaling can also be beneficial as a reflective tool. Are you one of those people who constantly replay certain situations of your day in your mind? How about highlighting 3 things which made you smile during the day instead, writing them down and focusing your energy on them?

✨Journaling can mean something different to everyone - it's all about finding what technique works best for you.

Have you tried journaling and still didn't like it?

Are you more of an artistic person who would prefer to draw instead of write?

Well, if you answered yes - we have a treat for you too in our November box!

Why can't I switch off at night?

It's a common question many of us face at some stage of our lives.

Getting a great night's sleep is so reliant on how each one of our minds, body and soul are feeling. That's why we're going to delve deeper into calming all three with our upcoming November box.

When we go to sleep, we don't have the environmental distractions we experience during the day, so we are essentially left alone with our thoughts and therefore many of us may find it hard to turn them off.

However, there are some techniques you can try to help manage these feelings of a 'racing mind'. Journaling is one of the best techniques that helped me! And do you want to know the best part about it? You can tailor the style of journaling to suit whatever works best for you!
