DHA and Choline together... here's why it matters that they're in the same supplement 🧬

Both nutrients support your baby's brain development. But when they're taken together, research shows they actually amplify each other's benefits... especially for neurodevelopment. It's not just 1+1=2, it's more than that.

And both have the same problem: they're too large in molecular size to fit at meaningful doses inside a standard prenatal multivitamin. Which is exactly why we made a dedicated supplement for them.

Ovitae's Advanced Pregnancy DHA + Choline works alongside the Ovitae prenatal to fill the gaps that even the most comprehensive multivitamin can't cover πŸ’š

The dynamic duo. Together they've got you covered.

We want to talk about this one carefully... because the last thing anyone needs is to feel stressed about being stressed!

But here's what's actually going on in the body... when you're under chronic stress, it prioritises cortisol production. And cortisol uses some of the same building blocks as your reproductive hormones, particularly progesterone. When cortisol keeps winning, reproductive function can take a back seat.

This doesn't mean stress is "causing" your fertility challenges. And "just relax" is honestly not helpful advice and we'd never say that to you. But managing stress IS genuinely part of the picture.

Things that actually help:

πŸ”Έ Gentle regular movement, walking, yoga, swimming, over very high intensity exercise

πŸ”Έ Consistent sleep (your cortisol rhythm follows your sleep rhythm!)

πŸ”Έ Magnesium, which supports your stress response and is included in Ovitae's formula

πŸ”Έ Breathwork, even just a few minutes a day makes a difference

If your cycles are irregular or ovulation feels unpredictable, B vitamins are worth knowing about!

B6 is involved in producing progesterone and oestrogen... both essential for ovulation and those crucial early weeks of pregnancy. Low B6 has been linked to a shortened luteal phase, which can make implantation harder.

B12 supports your baby's nervous system development and helps prevent certain birth defects. It's also tied to red blood cell production and DNA synthesis.

And the full B vitamin complex works together to reduce homocysteine (elevated levels are linked to pregnancy complications) and support the hormonal environment needed for conception.

They really do work best as a team, which is why Ovitae includes the full B complex rather than just one or two in isolation πŸ’š

Save this if B vitamins are something you want to look into more!

Honest question: when did you last actually read the label on your prenatal? πŸ‘€

Most women assume that because they're taking one, they're covered. But there's a pretty big difference between a formula built on 20-year-old research and one that reflects what we actually know now.

Here's what Ovitae's Pre-Conception & Pregnancy Support includes that most others don't:

πŸ”Έ Two forms of folic acid including methylated 5-MTHF... because one form doesn't work as well for everyone

πŸ”Έ Choline: critical for baby's brain development and missing from most prenatals

πŸ”Έ Inositol: especially important for women with PCOS

πŸ”Έ Vitamin D at therapeutic levels: not just a token amount

πŸ”Έ 25 nutrients total: formulated with nutrient interactions in mind so they actually work together

Endorsed by the Australian College of Midwives πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί and made right here in Australia.

A little reminder for anyone who feels like nothing is happening right now...

Every supplement you're taking. Every meal you think about. Every appointment you drag yourself to. The research you're doing at 11pm when you can't sleep.

It's not for nothing. Even when it really, really feels like it is.

The 90 days before ovulation, the nutritional foundation you're building right now... it all matters. More than you know πŸ’š

Something that doesn't get talked about enough: it's not just about getting enough iron in pregnancy, it's about getting the right amount.

Too little is a real problem. Your blood volume nearly doubles during pregnancy, and iron is essential for your baby's growth and development. Low iron is one of the most common nutritional gaps in pregnant women and it genuinely matters.

But too much causes problems too! Excess iron is the main reason so many prenatal vitamins cause nausea and constipation. A lot of brands load up their formulas with way more than you actually need, and the result is women feeling awful and giving up on their prenatal altogether 😩

Ovitae includes iron at the right level. Enough to support you properly, not so much it makes every morning harder than it needs to be πŸ’š

The Ovitae story (in case you're new here πŸ’•)

Ovitae started because we couldn't find what we were looking for on the shelf.

Not a prenatal built on research from 20 years ago. Not one that caused nausea because the iron dose was way too high. Not one missing choline, or DHA, or the nutrients we knew actually mattered... just because they were inconvenient to include.

So we built it ourselves 🌿

Every decision in our formula comes back to one question: what does a woman's body actually need right now, based on the best research available? Not what looks impressive on a label. Not what's cheapest to manufacture. What actually works.

That's why we include choline when most brands don't. Two forms of folic acid when most use one. Iron at the right level, not an excessive one. 25 nutrients formulated to work together, not against each other.

We're Australian-made, endorsed by the Australian College of Midwives, and genuinely obsessed with getting this right... because the women taking our products are growing humans, and that deserves better than average πŸ’•

If you're new here, welcome. So glad you found us.

One of the most common questions we get: "How do I know if my prenatal is actually working?"

A few signs it might not be the right fit for you...

πŸ”΄ It's making you nauseous, especially on an empty stomach. A well-formulated prenatal with appropriate iron levels shouldn't do this.

πŸ”΄ You keep skipping it, if you're forgetting or avoiding it because it makes you feel off, your body is telling you something.

πŸ”΄ Choline and DHA aren't on the label, or they're there in tiny amounts. These are critical for pregnancy and missing from most prenatals.

πŸ”΄ There's only one form of folic acid, for women with MTHFR variants, this means you may not be absorbing it effectively.

πŸ”΄ The formula is based on older research, formulations that haven't been updated in 10–20 years don't reflect what we now know about fertility nutrition.

If any of these sound familiar, it might be worth a closer look at what you're taking. Your prenatal should be something you feel genuinely good about πŸ’š

Vitamin D comes up a lot in fertility conversations lately, and the research backs the attention 🌞

Studies have linked Vitamin D deficiency to lower fertility outcomes, irregular ovulation, and poorer IVF success rates. And in Australia, despite the sunshine, deficiency is more common than most people expect, especially in winter or for women who spend a lot of time indoors.

Particularly worth knowing if you have:

β†’ PCOS (Vitamin D supports insulin sensitivity and menstrual regularity)
β†’ Low ovarian reserve
β†’ Elevated BMI (which affects how efficiently Vitamin D is metabolised)

Most prenatal supplements include some Vitamin D, but not always at levels that meaningfully support fertility outcomes.

Ovitae includes Vitamin D at higher therapeutic levels, because that's what the evidence around reproductive health actually points to.

If you're unsure about your levels, a simple blood test from your GP can check. Worth raising at your next appointment πŸ’š

Prenatal nausea is real. Your prenatal supplement shouldn't be adding to it.

The most common thing we hear from people who switch to Ovitae? "I've finally found one I can actually take" ❀️

Here's usually what's going on with other brands:

β†’ Too much iron, many prenatals include far more than the recommended amount, and excess iron is a very common cause of nausea and constipation

β†’ Harder-to-absorb nutrient forms that the body works harder to process

β†’ Timing, some formulas are simply better tolerated with food, and that's not always made clear

Ovitae was formulated with tolerability in mind from the start, with iron at an appropriate level and nutrient forms your body can recognise and absorb more easily.

If you've been avoiding taking a prenatal because your last one made you feel awful... that's worth fixing πŸ’š
