Today, on World Cerebral Palsy Day, we celebrate and acknowledge the unique experiences, strengths, and stories of people living with cerebral palsy.
With individuals, families, advocates, and organisations across more than 100 countries, this day is a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we come together.
Cerebral palsy is a lifelong physical disability that primarily affects movement and posture, and may also involve challenges related to communication, vision, hearing, and mobility. Its impact varies widely among individuals, from subtle motor differences to significant physical support needs.
More than 17 million people worldwide live with cerebral palsy, and an estimated 350 million people are closely connected to someone who does. In Australia, around 34,000 people are living with cerebral palsy, making it the most common childhood-onset physical disability.
This year’s theme, , reminds us that while every person with cerebral palsy has a unique experience, our shared goal is the same: a world that is inclusive, accessible, and equitable.
At Focus Care, we are dedicated to creating a future where every individual, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to live fully and authentically.
