But we also know that December can be a challenging month for others — feelings of loneliness, overwhelm, grief, financial stress, family pressures, or big changes in routine can make this season difficult to navigate.

With all this rain around, it’s a great time to slow down, stay alert, and take extra care on the roads. 💙

🚗 Drive Safely: Wet roads can be slippery — give yourself extra space to stop and reduce your speed.
🌧️ Be Visible: Keep your headlights on and make sure your wipers are working properly.
🕳️ Watch for Hazards: Puddles can hide potholes or debris, so avoid sudden movements or braking.
💧 Plan Ahead: Allow extra travel time and check conditions before heading out.

💭 Understanding Trauma Responses 💭

Trauma can show up in many ways — and not always how we expect. Everyone’s response is unique, and there’s no “right” or “wrong” way to react.

Some common trauma responses include:
⚡ Fight – becoming defensive or angry to feel in control
🏃‍♀️ Flight – avoiding situations or people that feel unsafe
😶 Freeze – feeling numb, stuck, or unable to act
🤝 Fawn – people-pleasing to keep the peace or avoid conflict

These are our body’s natural ways of protecting us when we feel threatened. Understanding them is the first step toward healing and self-compassion. 💛
