For halves in rugby league, passing accuracy is everything 🏉🎯

Small technical details can be the difference between a play flowing… or breaking down.

Things we focus on when developing a half’s pass:
• Getting low and balanced at the ruck ⬇️
• Wide base / strong stance for stability 🧱
• Two hands on the ball — one for power, one for direction ✋🏽🤚🏽
• Passing in front of the runner, not behind, so they can hit it at speed ⚡

You can see the difference here. A small adjustment in technique can completely change the outcome of a play 📈

This morning I want to reflect on the importance of self love and self care. Whatever that looks like to you.

Growing up, I watched my Mum pour into the world with her whole heart, but she never poured into herself. Through that, I learned the importance of boundaries and cutting unnecessary energies out.

The single-arm press (with the opposite arm holding a ball) trains your core to resist rotation and stabilize your pelvis, forcing your trunk to transfer force efficiently from your upper body to your lower body. 😤

Simply put…
Press with one arm while holding a weight/ball in the other trains your core to resist rotation and stay stable ⚖️

For a rugby league kicker, that means:
🦵 Stronger plant-leg to ball force transfer
⚡ More powerful, controlled kicks
🎯 Better accuracy and torso stability
💪 Reduced energy leaks and injury risk

It’s not just chest work, it’s not just holding one arm up holding onto something — it’s a kicking-specific core and force-transfer drill. Concentrating on what needs to be moving, holding, pushing etc is all part of the brain work in this exercise.

The results have been unreal, but more than that — it’s the way they’ve shown up every single week. Quiet work. Honest effort. No excuses. CONSISTENCY🎯

They’ve leaned into the hard stuff, backed each other, and brought the right energy every session. That’s what means the most to us.
