Dr. Gabe Mirkin & Dr. Evelyn Lewin advocate
✌️P.E.A.C.E & L.O.V.E 🫶 being considered a more appropriate approach in acute injury care.

☮️ P.E.A.C.E = initial 1-3 days ⏰ post injury
(inflammatory phase)

💟 L.O.V.E = after the first few days post injury
(recovery phase)

🗓 It's the heart of pre-season for many sports all over Australia.

Now would be a great time for a reminder of the basics to utilise in the realm of non severe injuries. 🤕

For many years R.I.C.E.R and P.O.L.I.C.E have been widely used.

However, experts including Dr Gabe Mirkin who created the R.I.C.E. protocol then later retracted his statement in 2013. They are questioning if ice should still be considered due to factors related to slowing down healing.
