Public Health Ambassador

What we breathe is fundamental to our health. Air pollution kills an estimated seven million people worldwide every year. The World Health Organization has data showing that 9 out of 10 people breathe air containing high levels of contaminants. In many cases these contaminants are biological in origin and include mould spores, bacteria, yeasts, pollens, parasites and virus.

The microbial world is diverse and not always pathogenic in terms of direct disease.

However, in the air-stream, these cells easily fragment over time and generate micron and sub-micron dusts that are inhaled and become deposited inside our homes.

My role is to show how science and health are connected and that despite climate change and urbanisation, there is hope for wellness.
