Hello my lovely people, I’ve been loving the work life balance away from socials and focusing on my offline clients in the past year.

I feel so lucky to have encountered so many lovely people in the clinic, and will continue to be working hard to help you with the complex health needs in our modern day life.

Just wanted to jump here to let you know that I’ll be doing some further studies while spending time with my mom in China for 3 weeks between May to June.

I’ll still be responding to emails sporadically during this time but won’t be as available as I usually am.

Thank you and take care 🫂

Hello my lovelies,

Just a quick heads up that I’ll be away for 4 weeks from Christmas to New Year.

I wanted to give everyone enough notice this year so that there is still plenty of time to book in your seasonal tune-ups or planned sessions.

If you’re in need of a session in the next month and there are no availabilities online, send me an email and I’ll see what I can do to squeeze you in!

For those of you who are curious, I’ll be doing lots of exploring in the countryside and natural landscapes of Japan. As well as going to China to visit my family 🤭

My hours are still the same before I head off.

🧧Year of the Rabbit Health and Prosperity Readings🧧

There are years when we have amazing opportunities and our bodies and mind are in harmony.

There are also years when things are a bit harder to achieve and our bodies feel more out of place.

IChing views these shifting waves of health and fortune in a 12-year cycle.

Through observations of interactions in nature, Chinese Sages found patterns that predict virtues, fortune and bodily constitution. It is much more than just superstition.

Keep reading for some additional readings of 2023:

People who are metal, earth or fire element, this is your year to shine! Take risks, and make big changes, great opportunities are coming your way!

If you are born in the year of the Rabbit, it is important to be cautious with your actions.
Keep being the amazing being you are and doing what you love to do, but don’t make major life decisions during this year as things may not work the same way you intend to.

Tip: Wear a red string around your waist to protect your body from the invasion of pathogens and negative Qi.

🏮Wishing everyone a Happy Lunar New Year 新年快乐🏮

🌤️ Slight Heat 小暑 Xiǎo Shǔ 🌤️

Melbourne didn’t disappoint and presented us with some nice warm weather as we enter this new seasonal point.

Traditionally this is when “Dog Days of Summer” begin. Dog Days represents the hottest and the most humid time of the year when our digestive organs Small Intestine and Spleen become compromised.

This is when we start to have difficulties with absorption, acne, allergies, hives, loose stools, irritable bowels, stomach flu, fatigue, cloudy mind, bloating and abdominal pain.

• Tips On Improving Digestive Functions •

🍯 Food that helps with absorption
Consume more foods that assist with absorption such as yam, coix seed, local honey, fermented foods and astragalus membranaceous.

😴 Take a nap during mid-day
Nights are shorter during this time of the year, so taking a mid-day night can help improve energy and heart function.

🧖🏻‍♀️ Cosmetic and body acupuncture
Acupuncture is a natural way to help boost the functions of the digestive organs and work on the imbalances in the body.

🕊️ I’m offering cosmetic acupuncture in both Richmond and Carlton North locations, it’s a great way to target stubborn acne and rejuvenate the skin. If you’d like to learn more about how this will assist your skin health, click on the link in bio 🕊️

⛱Beginning of Summer 立夏 Lì Xià⛱

There’s been some freaky weather in Melbourne lately as we enter a new seasonal point in the Southern Hemisphere.

The seasonal point we are in now is the “beginning of Summer”, which is one of the rainy seasons according to the 24 seasons in the lunar calendar. If you’ve been feeling more fatigued and more irritable, it’s all thanks to this seasonal change.

This season change can weaken our gut and our digestive organs.
The temperamental changes in weather means it’s hard to predict which duvet to use at night, leaving us either hot and irritated or cold and uncomfortable at night.

That’s why you’ve been experiencing more fatigue, foggy and cloudy mind, irritable, prone to worry, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, constipation and just feeling like your tank is empty.

• Tips on Gut healing •

🫒 Incorporating more fermented foods
Fermented foods like sauerkraut help to protect the gut lining and introduce healthy bacteria into the gut.

🥗 Limit Cold and Raw Food and Drinks
It takes more effort for the digestive system to convert cold food to our body temperature, so warm foods can help give our digestive system a well-deserved break.

☀️ Enjoy exercise or walks in the Sun
Soaking up vitamin D can actually help with your mood and energy.

Now we’ve reached the middle of winter in the Southern Hemisphere, I’m finding it hard to get out of bed and leave the warm cozy covers.

It is even worse if you have cold hands and feet, and sometimes wearing warm fluffy socks is just not enough.

That’s because our body is very smart in conserving the most vital body parts when it is not functioning optimally.

The blood and energy are directed towards the centre of the body where all vital organs are located, leaving our hands and feet feeling cold.

🙋🏻‍♀️ If the 3 types of cold hands and poor circulations conditions are different to what you experience, or if you’d like to know more about how to relieve your symptoms, send me an E-mail or book an appointment with me through the link in my BIO.

☃️Winter solstice 冬至 Dōng Zhì☃️

This has got to be the coldest winter in Melbourne in years!

Today is the winter solstice, if you’ve been feeling less motivated with low mood, it’s all thanks to this seasonal change.

This season affects our Kidney - the organ that governs the essence that makes up our bones, hair, and teeth and keeps our bodily fluid (yin) and energy (yang) in balance.

The cold and wet weather is also a recipe for disaster for pain and poor circulation.

That’s why you’ve been experiencing more pain and discomfort, especially in the neck and back, poor circulation, ringing in the ears, brittle hair and nails, dry skin, no motivation, low mood, low libido, loose stools, and low energy.

• Tips on protecting the Kidney •

🛁 Bath and soups
Both help to warm up the body and improve circulation. Heat packs are also great to help with pain and discomfort.

🥑 Consuming more food and more healthy fats
This is the time to preserve, our body needs more energy to help keep us warm and functioning in this cold weather.

😆 Take some time for yourself to watch and do things that bring you joy
Having a self-care routine that brings you joy is essential to help lift up your mood and energy.

Rug up for voting day!

❄️ Light Snow 小雪 Xiǎo Xuě ❄️

In the Southern Hemisphere, we are saying farewell to autumn and getting ready for winter in about 10 days.

As all our 5 senses begin to feel the icy cold air, it is time start preserving our energy and start warming and nourishing the body.

Preservation 藏 Cáng is essential to ensure we have a strong immune system and a well-nourished body system for the rest of the year.

• 3 tips to thrive in this seasonal change •

🧴Stay Moisturiser Inside Out
Nourish fluids inside the body by having more hydrating soups like snow fungus soup, steamed pear, and chicken or mushroom herbal soup.

Start to use heavier creams for the face and body especially if you use any kind of heating system at home.

🌥 Only Exercise When The Sun Is Out
It is time to preserve our energy and prevent excessive sweating. Only exercise when the Sun 阳光 Yáng Guāng is out and op for more low-intensity exercises.

🌬 Perfect Seasonal Point For Drying Food
Low humidity + low temperature + windy =
The perfect combination for drying fish, meats or mushrooms. Traditionally this is the time to prepare your dried meats for wintertime.

❄️ First frost 霜降 Shuāng Jiàng ❄️

We have now reached the last seasonal point of Autumn in the Southern Hemisphere. This is the time when the cold air really settles in and winter blankets start to come out.

It’s so interesting to see Melbourne weather actually adhering to the seasonal points this year and having our local produce reflecting them.

We’ve been having such delicious pumpkin and Nashi pears this autumn and you may have noticed that persimmon is now beginning to show up in local markets.

The organs we need to look after between Autumn and winter are our intestines and the pericardium. These organs help to regulate our gut and mental health respectively.

So during this seasonal point, we are more likely to experience constipation, diarrhoea, insomnia, lots of dreams, anxiety, depression, irritability, numbness, and pain in the arms.

🎃 Cᴏɴsᴜᴍᴇ ᴍᴏʀᴇ sᴇᴀsᴏɴᴀʟ ꜰᴏᴏᴅ sᴜᴄʜ ᴀs ᴘᴇʀsɪᴍᴍᴏɴ, ᴘᴜᴍᴘᴋɪɴ ᴀɴᴅ ᴘᴇᴀʀ
All very good foods to help protect the gut and Moisten dryness to help with bowel movements.
Eating seasonally is almost always a good idea as they’re filled with nutritional values suitable to the time when they’re ripe.

🚶‍♀️ɢᴏ ᴏɴ ɴɪᴄᴇ sᴛʀᴏʟʟs ᴀꜰᴛᴇʀ ᴅɪɴɴᴇʀ
A nice long walk after dinner is a very good way to assist with digestion and improve your mood to prepare you for a good night sleep.

🙌🏼 ᴍᴀssᴀɢᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ᴀʀᴍs
Acupressure channels for the pericardium and large intestines are located on the inner and outer aspects of our arms. When we massage them it helps to boost the functions of those organs.
