It’s that time of year again!⁠

We all know the feeling of motivation that arises at the beginning of the new year - that surge of energy, motivation and desire to make this year the year we achieve our goals. ⁠

Those intentions that this year will be different... that this time we really mean it!⁠

There’s even a huge amount of research to back this up that supports things like new habit acquisition having the most chance of sticking when properly implemented at the start of the year.⁠

Unfortunately, the charlatans and snake oil salespeople in our industry know this too, and they’re gearing up for their busiest time of year too.⁠

The stains in our industry are ready to start preying on your insecurities while your motivation is highest, to flog their potions, detoxes and nonsense elixirs, to try to increase fear of actual food and convince you that they have the ‘secret’ to fast track your goals or ‘biohack’ your body.⁠

At MTMM, we like to flip these muppets the bird.⁠

Focus on what matters and what’s important.

So often we get caught up in what’s fleeting or shiny that we often miss what’s really important.

Education as far as nutrition is concerned is pretty minimal within the community, and it’s something we at MTMM are unapologetically aggressive in trying to correct.

Having clients understand their bodies, their nutrition and what works best for them in finding balance is the most rewarding part of our work.

If this means their body composition improves along the way as a bi-product (which it will), then so be it.

However, there’s no progress picture of a well defined midsection that makes us as happy as clients telling us they can enjoy social occasions, family gatherings and celebrate holidays with loved ones and not panic, stress or feel anxious to the point they feel they cannot partake or enjoy the moment.

Macros and calories are important - knowledge is power after all. But the greatest empowerment comes from the confidence of understanding.

And that’s real progress.
