Your period is meant to flow.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, movement is everythingi, Qi and Blood need to flow freely for us to feel balanced and well.

Your menstrual cycle is no different. In fact, your period is your body’s monthly cleanse.
When the uterine lining sheds, it’s not just releasing blood, it’s clearing away the month’s physical, emotional, and even energetic build-up.

Think of it as your body’s own reset button.
This is your time to release:

The endometrial lining

Hormone metabolites

Toxins and chemicals from your environment

Emotional stress you’ve carried

But when we block that natural flow, for example, with internal products like tampons or menstrual cups we can create stagnation in the womb. In TCM, stagnation is often behind period pain, clotting, and cramping.

That’s why we often recommend period underwear or pads, so your blood can move freely, and your womb can do what she’s designed to do each month.

Let your period flow, your womb health depends on it! 🩸

Leave us a note in the comments? Which products to you use?

1. Pads
2. Tampons
3. Menstrual Cups
4. Period Un**es
5. Combination

Your hormones aren’t just “moody” — they’re being messed on a daily basis by invisible chemicals hiding in your home and the environment. 😳

Let’s talk endocrine disruptors, the uninvited guests that mimic, block, or mess with your natural hormones.
They can live in your candles, plastic containers, perfumes, and even your drinking water. And yes, they’re linked to:

⚠️ Irregular cycles
⚠️ PCOS + endometriosis
⚠️ Fertility issues
⚠️ Estrogen dominance
⚠️ Thyroid dysfunction

What does the research say?

Bisphenol A (BPA), found in plastics, can mimic estrogen and alter ovarian function (Peretz et al., Reprod Toxicol, 2014).

Phthalates, found in synthetic fragrances, are linked to reduced progesterone and altered ovulation (Souter et al., Environ Health Perspect, 2013).

Parabens, used in soaps + lotions, may increase estrogenic activity in the body (Vo et al., J Appl Toxicol, 2010).

The good news? Small changes make a BIG difference.

Swipe the image to see 4 easy swaps you can start today:
✨ Essential oil diffusers instead of air fresheners
✨ Natural, unscented soap
✨ Ditch plastic water bottles for filtered options
✨ Store your food in glass containers — not plastic

These changes support hormonal balance and reduce your daily chemical load. It’s a step toward empowered, conscious living and your hormones will thank you for it.

Have you already made some of these swaps? Which one will you try first? Drop a 💧 or 🌱 in the comments if you’re ready to clean up your hormone environment.

Living with PCOS can feel like your body is speaking a different language — but you can learn to understand it.

We've created a 5 simple healthy habits chart so you can adopt these practices into your daily rituals.

Here’s what science (and Chinese Medicine) agree on👇

✅ Walking outside daily improves insulin sensitivity and reduces cortisol — a major driver in PCOS
✅ Weight training supports ovulation and metabolic health
✅ A nourishing breakfast helps stabilise blood sugar and prevents the 3pm crash
✅ Quality sleep and a night routine boosts melatonin — which has been shown to improve menstrual regularity in PCOS
✅ Sunlight + nature support Vitamin D levels (low in many with PCOS) — critical for ovulation
✅ Hydration supports liver detoxification + hormone clearance

Here’s the key:
When you ovulate regularly, your body produces progesterone — a powerful hormone that calms inflammation, balances estrogen, and regulates your cycle.

Which habit are you focusing on this week?

🚨 Spoiler alert: PCOS isn’t just about your ovaries.

It’s a whole-body hormonal storm and these 3 culprits are often driving the chaos:
Androgens
Cortisol
Blood Sugar

Let me break it down for you—Doctor style 👩‍⚕️

Elevated Androgens?
Cue acne, facial hair, scalp hair loss, and periods that ghost you.
Research: High androgens are linked with disrupted follicle development and ovulatory dysfunction (J Clin Endocrinol Metab, 2010).

Too much Cortisol?
Stress hormone overload = inflammation, mood swings, and poor sleep.
Chronic stress can worsen insulin resistance and cycle irregularity (Endocr Rev, 2012).

Blood Sugar spikes?
Expect cravings, weight gain, fatigue—and more hormonal havoc.
📚 Insulin resistance is found in up to 70% of women with PCOS (JCEM, 2004). That’s not a typo.

The good news? You don’t have to fight this alone.
Luna 5 is here to support hormonal harmony—naturally.
→ Regulates irregular cycles
→ Supports ovulation
→ Calms the hormonal storm
→ Reduces those ragey, hangry crashes

PCOS MYTH BUSTERS – It’s time to set the record straight.
Because when it comes to PCOS, misinformation is everywhere and it's making women feel broken. Let’s change that!

From clinic to personal experience, here’s what I wish every woman knew👇

Myth 1: “Just take all these medications and you’ll be fine.”
🚫 Band-aids don’t fix root causes.
💊 The pill, Metformin, and anti-androgens can help manage symptoms—but they don’t heal the underlying hormonal and metabolic imbalances. Healing PCOS takes an integrative approach: herbs, nutrition, lifestyle, stress and womb support.

Myth 2: “You can cure PCOS.”
🚫 Not true.
💡 PCOS is a manageable condition—not a curable one. With the right support, you can balance hormones, regulate cycles, and even thrive. That’s where Luna 5 comes in.

Myth 3: “Just lose weight and your PCOS will go away.”
🚫 Weight gain is a symptom of hormonal imbalance, not the cause.
Focusing only on weight ignores the deeper drivers—like insulin resistance, inflammation, and high androgens.

Myth 4: “Only overweight women have PCOS.”
🚫 PCOS can affect women of all sizes.
Lean PCOS is real—and just as deserving of attention. Body size is not a diagnosis.

Myth 5: “You can’t get pregnant with PCOS.”
🚫 False.
Yes, PCOS can make conception trickier—but fertility is absolutely possible with support. I've helped hundreds of women with PCOS become mamas using integrative medicine.

🌿 At Woom Health, we created Luna 5 to bring your hormones back into harmony—naturally.

What if we told you sunshine could shrink fibroids? ☀️🌞

Fibroids are one of the most under-discussed conditions in women’s health—despite affecting up to 70% of women by age 50. And guess what? A silent root cause might be hiding in your bloodwork…

Vitamin D Deficiency.

A 2013 study published in Fertility and Sterility found that women with sufficient vitamin D levels were 32% less likely to develop fibroids than those with low levels.
Another study (Ciavattini et al., Reproductive Sciences, 2016) showed vitamin D supplementation reduced fibroid size in women with small uterine fibroids.

Why does this matter?
Vitamin D plays a role in regulating cell growth and inflammation—two key factors in fibroid development.

And here’s the truth:
Many of us aren’t getting enough. Indoor lifestyles, seasonal changes, sunscreen use, and even gut health issues can all contribute to lower vitamin D stores.
Many women don’t know they’re deficient until symptoms worsen—heavy periods, tiredness, fatigue, constant colds and flus.

How to boost your Vitamin D naturally
☀️ 30 mins of daily sun (when possible)
🍄 Add mushrooms + oily fish to your meals
💊 Consider a high-quality D3 supplement (always check with your practitioner!)

Let’s talk about the things that get overlooked.

Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) can be complex, however the path to healing doesn’t have to be. In my 18+ years as a Doctor of Chinese Medicine and women’s health expert, I’ve seen firsthand how combining evidence-based medicine with ancient healing wisdom creates the most sustainable and empowering results.

Here are 3 clinically-backed tips to support your hormones naturally—and how Luna 5 can help you feel in sync again:

1. Vitamin D 🌞
Vitamin D deficiency is prevalent in women with PCOS and associated with insulin resistance, anovulation, and menstrual irregularity.
Research: A 2020 meta-analysis (Azadi-Yazdi et al., Reproductive Biology and Endocrinology) found that Vitamin D supplementation improved menstrual regularity and ovulation in women with PCOS.
In TCM, Vitamin D supports the Kidney Jing—your reproductive essence.

2. Inositol (Vitamin B8)
Inositol, particularly myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol, has been shown to improve ovulation, reduce insulin resistance, and restore menstrual cycles.
Research: A 2021 review (Unfer et al., International Journal of Molecular Sciences) supports inositol as a first-line supplement in managing PCOS symptoms.
Eastern medicine views inositol’s effects in supporting spleen qi. It is used to address imbalances related to dampness, phelgm and kidney deficiency.

3. Omega-3 Fatty Acids 🥑
Omega-3s (especially EPA and DHA) reduce systemic inflammation and lower androgen levels, easing acne, hair loss, and cycle irregularities.
Research: A 2018 RCT (Oner & Muderris, Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Research) found that omega-3 supplementation significantly reduced serum testosterone and improved menstrual regularity in PCOS patients.
In TCM, omega-3s nourish yin and Blood, cooling inflammation and supporting inner balance.

🚨 PCOS Red Flags You Shouldn’t Ignore! 🚨
Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) affects 1 in 10 women, but many go undiagnosed for years. If you're experiencing these symptoms, your hormones might be screaming for help 👇

🔥 PCOS RED FLAGS:
🚩Unexplained Weight Gain – No matter how healthy you eat or how much you exercise, your body holds onto weight (especially around the belly).
🚩Extreme Fatigue – Feeling tired as f*** all the time? Insulin resistance and inflammation could be draining your energy.
🚩 New or Excess Body Hair – Noticing dark, coarse hair on your chin, upper lip, chest, or stomach? High androgens (male hormones) could be to blame.
🚩Severe Acne That Won’t Go Away – Hormonal acne along the jawline, chin, or back that’s cystic and hard to treat. Elevated DHEA and testosterone could be the cause.
🚩Irregular or Missing Periods – Long cycles, skipped periods, or months without one? This is a major sign of PCOS.
🚩Thinning Hair or Scalp Hair Loss – Hair shedding like crazy? PCOS can cause female pattern hair loss due to high testosterone.
🚩Mood Swings, Anxiety & Depression – Blood sugar imbalances and hormone fluctuations can seriously affect mental health.

💚 If this sounds like you, don’t ignore it! PCOS is manageable. It's important you find the right support team to help you diagnose!

Your natural PCOS remedies to support your PCOS symptoms

We love Magnesium! Magnesium plays a crucial role in managing polycystic o***y syndrome (PCOS) due to its impact on insulin sensitivity, reducing inflammation, and balancing hormones. A study published in Biological Trace Element Research (2017) found that women with PCOS often have lower magnesium levels, and supplementation improved insulin function and reduced fasting glucose levels.

We know how much Omega 3's reduce inflammation, support insulin sensitivity and regulate ovulation. Research in Reproductive Biology and Endocrinology (2019) suggests that omega-3s help regulate testosterone levels, reducing symptoms like acne and excess hair growth (hirsutism). Yes girlfriend!

Zinc, a common supplement used for immune system support can also reduce the negative effects of elevated testosterone. In a study, a daily zinc supplement of 50 mg decreased hirsutism (unwanted hair growth) in women with PCOS. This same study highlighted zinc's potential to diminish hair loss, thinning hair, and elevated inflammation, common issues in PCOS.

N-Acetylcysteine
Studies show that NAC reduces insulin resistance and lowers fasting blood sugar levels, similar to metformin (a common PCOS medication).
A 2016 meta-analysis in Obstetrics & Gynecology International found that NAC significantly improved glucose metabolism and reduced insulin resistance in women with PCOS.
NAC is a natural, research-backed supplement that improves insulin sensitivity, ovulation, hormone balance, and inflammation in women with PCOS.

Let's not forget LUNA 5!!!
