BOOK WEEK 2025 starts today! In Australia it is celebrating its 80th anniversary! Book Week runs from August 16-23, and the theme this year is "Book an Adventure!" This event is promoted as inclusive, inviting everyone to participate by exploring stories, dressing up as characters, and engaging with libraries and authors. Many Autistic people travellingthrough the airport benefit from noise-cancelling headphones. Historically, all travellers have had to take off their headphones
when going through body scanners and security at the airport, however Autistic people can now wear noise-cancelling headphones during airport security screening in Australia. Bullying No Way Week is running this week from August 11-15. Children and Young People with Disability Australia has revealed that 75% of disabled students were bullied in 2024, while 72% were excluded from school activities or events.

Bullying No Way Week is Australia's key bullying prevention initiative for schools. It provides an opportunity for schools to create a shared understanding about bullying behaviours and share their bullying prevention policies and strategies. Learn more here:
