Is skin cancer more common in summer?

YES, because you spend more time outside in summer
Warmer weather drawing people outside more often, combined with summer’s longer daylight hours, equals more prolonged and direct exposure to UV rays, in turn increasing the risk of skin cancer.

And skin is less covered up during summer
Most people tend to wear short sleeves in summer because the weather is warmer, which means the skin is less protected from the sun’s UV radiation.

Don’t Wait For Summer. Sun Can Damage Your Skin in Spring Too.

How Do You Remove Skin Tags?
Our Clinic offer a range of minor skin tag removal surgeries and procedures.

Excisional Biopsy
This minor surgical approach offers a complete extraction of the lesion and a small margin of healthy tissue surrounding it. This ensures that the entirety of the affected tissue is out and can be sent for lab testing. The lab test can either confirm the diagnosis or help your doctor understand if there is an underlying issue.

Cryotherapy
This fast and effective solution involved spraying the lesion with liquid nitrogen. The tag may scab or blister, and the skin tag will then fall off with the blister or scab. This quick treatment may need to be repeated a few times to remove it completely; however, if cryotherapy is opted for, this will be discussed with you.

It is a common misconception that you can only get a sunburn during the summer months. However, Australia has some of the highest UV levels in the world, and this doesn’t change during the winter months. Some statistics show that only 31% of adults practise sun safety during cold weather. Winter sun damage can happen even on the coldest days, and winter sunburns carry the same risks as those that happen in summer. These include premature aging, skin damage and skin cancer.

Both men and women develop type of hair loss, . In men, it’s called male pattern hair loss. Women get female pattern hair loss.
Is regrowth possible?

Yes, treatment can help stop or slow hair loss. It may also help regrow hair. The earlier treatment is started, the better it works. Without treatment, you will continue to lose hair.

While many causes of hair loss can be treated successfully, the key to effective treatment is to find out what’s causing the hair loss.
