Hip labral tears are an under-recognized issue in grappling sports like BJJ—despite no published studies, they’re clinically real and linked to deep flexion, adduction and internal rotation loading. Why Recovery Matters:

Exercise-induced muscle damage (EIMD) triggers soft-tissue inflammation, swelling, and elevated biomarkers like creatine kinase (CK) and interleukin-6 (IL-6). This leads to delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), increased perceived effort, and reduced performance.

Recovery strategies limit muscle damage, inflammation, DOMS, and fatigue, helping athletes feel less sore, reduce injury risk, and adapt better to training.
