Alright! This wholesome, sourdough baking, food loving and nourishing account has been officially taken over and on hold.
The dearly departed may resurrect at a later date (me). But as we have all witnessed the spiral of wholesome mumma Amanda, into some new version of her old chaotic self, let’s just stick around for the LOLs.

As I sit drinking my third beer for dinner, it’s time to finally let go of the old way of life and accept the new.
Grappling with the pull of full blown 20’s Amanda, I’m grateful I have my kids to anchor me (for anyone that knew that Amanda she was well and truely done).
So here we have some hybrid. In the midst of my own inner chaos, I take solace in sharing my ridiculous tales I’ve collected along the way and I know y’all gagging for more ridiculous tales hahah.
IYKYK.
So let’s go like 2.0. Hinge hooks gone completely fu***ng insane, beer for dinner, smoking a dart, furs and knee highs at 9pm. Hope my wholesome demise can bring y’all some laughs 🤣. It’s called balance right? (There’s no balance here…)

Ever felt like you’re constantly told by either social media or so called “health experts”, to have a picture perfect “clean” diet?

The truth is, it doesn’t exist. Sometimes the “healthiest” diet in the world will not heal you. But getting to the source of the problem can.

You can still have your favourite foods and ENJOY them.
I’m less about restriction and more about inclusion.
Maybe you DO need a little more protein or particular vitamins in your diet. But maybe you DONT need to cut the chocolate biscuit after dinner.
And if the underlying cause is not addressed then it wouldn’t matter anyway!

So if you’re down for real life, long term change hit me up. If your into fads and restrictive diets sorry you will have to go else where.

Exciting times!
I have a dedicated day to see clients.
As of next week I am taking clients on Fridays, also online appointments for select weeknights and weekend time slots.

I will also be offering in home postpartum appointments, so new mums can be in the safe space of their own homes 🥰 and free 15 minute phone calls to see if I am the right fit for you.

I am a BHSc clinical nutritionist, mum of 2, living in the Dandenong Ranges. Passionate about the health and wellness of families, but keeping it simple and specific to individual needs. My aim is to empower my clients to take charge of their health, while tailoring individual needs.
With experience in postpartum and pregnancy care, autoimmune hashimotos thyroiditis, adult ADHD and mood disorders, gut health and immune function I hope to support you on your journey to recovery.

Jerk chicken with fresh cucumber salad and sautéed zucchini corn.

I can’t give you the jerk chicken recipe, it’s from a neighbour whose mother is Jamaican. It’s my new staple. I’m obsessed!
Ray just covered the chicken in the spice and put it in the Weber.
Simple fresh salad with rocket and cucumber and tomato. Then threw some fresh corn and zucchini on the pan with salt and olive oil.
Every element was so fresh, simple and tasty.

My new baby!

Started this sourdough the last few days! Can you believe I haven’t done one before? It’s just for the kids as me and ray are gluten free. The organic sourdough bread I buy them is about 11 dollars a loaf and I cannot justify that at the rate they eat anymore!
So I started this bad boy, and can’t wait to bake bread, muffin and pancakes and all the things 😍

Hit me with all your tips!

I’ve also been getting loads of delish meat and veggies and jams from locals/family so I intend to repay with bread when possible. I love that we can all share food in the beautiful community and be community sufficient rather than self sufficient 🥰

Baking and creating food is my happy place.
There something so calming about grabbing whatever I have and creating something so delicious and exciting for my family..
Today’s muffin, was made with banana instead of egg (because I didn’t have any), mashed strawberries that needed to be used and some dark chocolate chips.
They were so delish they didn’t last long!

(This was actually from the day bobs got bitten by the spider I just forgot to post as always 🤪)

Pumpkin immunity soup!
(Just a fancy way of saying pumpkin soup because all soup is good for the immune system 🤣)

- brown an onion and garlic
- pour in heaps of bone broth (your own or store bought)
- load it up with heaps of pumpkin
- add turmeric, cumin, salt and pepper and any other herbs or spices you like to use in a pumpkin soup
- I added a can of kidney beans to thicken and add extra fibre for the kiddies.
- purée, add heaps of butter or olive oil whatever your feeling.

Don’t forget a decent (real) sourdough super fresh with heaps of butter and eat it all up

About 3 weeks ago with the first cold snap I began making soups with turmeric and garlic, loaded the kids up on probiotics and zinc and we have been out in the sun every morning all summer!

One thing I know is that we just got a head cold, june didn’t get sick at all, ray was sick for 2 days and bobby was mildly sick with a snotty nose for 5 days. However I was sick for 1.5 weeks with a hectic cough feeling so tired!
I’d been so focused on the kids, I’d forgotten about myself 🤣.
Not to mention no amount of diet/supplements can make up for a lack of sleep 😴 (thanks bobs)

So anyway get onto all the soups and nutrients and probiotics for your kiddies! Get them in the sun! Get them out in the dirt! It’s time to build those immune systems up in the coming months before winter really hits us hard.

With the recent cold snap up here in the hills it’s been chilly!
We have a lemon tree in the backyard and a lime tree across the road our neighbours allow everyone to collect.
We freeze the lemon and lime juice in ice block cubes so can we use them over the summer!

I loaded the kids up on extra vitamin c and we made some nice warming meals with lots of nice spice and tender meats last week.

Kids going back to school and the cooler weather coming and going can mean the kiddies getting colds. So I would recommend extra immune support at this time in Melbourne ❤️
