McNamara Care and Support - MCAS

We are a disability support provider that provides the highest level service to people living with a disability throughout Melbourne.

We are a small business disability support service that values clients as individuals and prioritises building a positive and safe environment that embraces honesty and open communication. What makes us unique is our simplest, yet highest, priority which is for our clients to have fun. We ready our support workers to incorporate being a mentor and friend into their role and we make a great effort to help our clients have experiences, through events and activities, that they have found challenging to be a part of. Our managing team are highly familiar, both personally and professionally, with the challenges and adversities faced by both people with disabilities as well as their families/ guardians, and therefore approach our work with compassion and empathy, as well as honesty and integrity. Being a small business allows us to dedicate our time towards focusing on clients, tailoring our operations according to their needs. Clients can be reassured that with us, they will be taken seriously, to the extent that each client will have their own case manager and employee/s that are hand-selected for them. Both employees and programs for clients will be organised according to each client’s unique needs.

Disability Pride is about visibility, acceptance, and empowerment - not just this month, but every day. It’s a time to celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of the disability community, and to keep challenging outdated attitudes and barriers.

As beautifully described, disability pride means “accepting and honouring each person’s uniqueness and seeing it as a natural and beautiful part of human diversity.” 💜

🌟 What’s New In Hithi's World? 🌟

It’s been a season of growth, exploration, and plenty of joyful moments for Hithi! 🍂🍃

From enjoying peaceful autumn walks, to discovering a newfound love for FROYO 🍦(who can blame him!?), Hithi has been soaking up the little joys in life while still stepping out of his comfort zone -including giving DJ'ing a go! 🎧

He’s also been kicking some serious independence goals lately, taking on everyday tasks such as laundry and grocery shopping - Go you good thing! 💪👏

But the highlight of it all? That bright, beaming smile that lights up every room he enters. 😄💛

Luke’s been smashing goals left, right and centre! 😁✨

From personal milestones to learning new skills, we are so proud of how far he’s come. 👏

Lately, Luke’s been working magic in the kitchen, he started out with some fun baking adventures! Everything from cookies to brownies, all of which he generously shared with his family & support assistants. 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦

And when it comes to his all-time favourite food, Pizza! Chef Luke has taken things to the next level, mastering the art of making his own delicious creations from scratch! 🍕

🌟 Allana is thriving! 🌟

Lately, Allana has been absolutely smashing her goals—she's feeling happier, more confident, and stronger than ever!

✅ First Aid Certified! A huge milestone accomplished, leaving her feeling proud and empowered—well done Allana!

🎨 A Heart of Gold! Allana has been busy crafting and recently made beautiful trinkets for each of her support assistants—such a thoughtful and kind gesture!

💪 Pushing Limits at the Gym! She’s been breaking personal bests and stepping outside her comfort zone, proving just how strong and determined she is.

🏡 Building Independence! From keeping up with her cleaning schedule to preparing her own meals, Allana has been making big strides towards her independence goals.

We couldn’t be prouder of you Allana! Keep doing your thing!! 🤩💫

🌟 Ela’s Recent Adventures! 🌟

Ela has been having an amazing time lately! She’s been spending quality time with her support assistant’s dogs, Polly & Cleo. From peaceful walks to lending a hand with grooming, she’s really enjoyed bonding with her furry friends. 🐾💛

Ela’s creativity has been flourishing, and we’re thrilled to share that she was recently accepted into an art program—such a huge achievement! We are incredibly proud of her and can’t wait to see where her artistic journey takes her. 🎨✨

On top of that, Ela has also been exploring her love for cooking and has recently ventured into baking. We can’t wait to sample some of her delicious creations! 🍰👩‍🍳

Well done Ela! Your hard work, passion, and enthusiasm continues to inspire us all. 💫

🌟 Vaughan the Culinary Champion! 🌟

Vaughan has been thriving in the kitchen recently, sharpening his cooking skills under the expert guidance of his wonderful support assistant (and former head chef!), Tiffany. 🧑‍🍳

He recently had the exciting opportunity to showcase his talent by catering the MCAS Christmas break-up event—and WOW, what a feast he delivered! From preparation to presentation, Vaughan’s dedication and skills truly impressed us all. 🎄🎉

Vaughan loved every step of this project, especially taking on the role of “quality control officer"- a job he clearly enjoyed! 😂

A big shoutout to Vaughan and Tiffany for their fantastic teamwork and for treating everyone to such a delicious spread. We’re so proud of Vaughan and can't wait to see where his culinary journey takes him next! 👏

It’s Diversity Inclusion Australia’s ‘National Inclusion At Work Week’ Celebration from 18th- 22nd Nov. This celebrates both the benefits and accomplishments made by workplaces that are all inclusive of individuals living with disabilities. 🎉 💪

We are sharing this post to help promote insight into more inclusive, accessible, and supportive work environments. This could look like the following:

❤️Celebrating Disability Inclusion Stories.
❤️Educational Events and Workshops to educate employers and employees on disability inclusion.
❤️Promoting Disability Confidence.
❤️Workplace Accessibility and Adjustments such as ramps, accessible software and flexible work arrangements.
❤️Community Building and Networking.
❤️Encouraging Allyship and Engagement in the work place between employees and employers of all abilities.

💫💚 Hithi’s Big Day at Ability Fest! 💚🌟

Hithi had the time of his life at Ability Fest, surrounded by some of his all time favourite people, Methni & Josh! Together, they shared endless laughs, boogied to the beats, and indulged in some tasty food. 🍔🕺

The atmosphere was electric, and Hithi’s energy was truly infectious, spreading pure joy to everyone around him! 🎶✨

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this event so special and accessible. Here’s to many more adventures for Hithi, filled with friendship, great music, and memories to cherish for life! 🤩🎉

🌟🐉 Mitch’s Epic Adventure at Dragon Dreaming Festival! 🐉🌟

Recently, Mitch, along with his wonderful support assistants Rosalie & Jade, embarked on a magical journey to the Dragon Dreaming Festival, set against the stunning backdrop of Wee Jasper, NSW. 🏞️✨

Excitement filled the air as Mitch got to try out his brand new three-room tent—adding even more fun to the adventure! But what truly lit up his experience was the sacred fire 💫. He spent countless hours basking in its warmth and energy, forming deep connections with new friends, including one special person who shared his passion for fire. They even taught him how to start one from scratch! 🔥🙌

The festival radiated kindness, empowerment, and a deep sense of community. Mitch left feeling more connected than ever, with new friendships and cherished memories that will last a lifetime. 🌍✨

What an unforgettable experience for Mitch & his friends! 🎉
