It can be so intimidating to look at pictures online. You might see a large bottle of milk pumped or a huge refrigerator stash. Remember babies start by taking in very small amounts of colostrum and as your milk increases so does their intake. You ARE enough ❤️

Breastfeeding a toddler whilst they’re doing gymnastics on your lap!!!. The other supports which helped us meet our breastfeeding goals=
1) Husband - encouragement & picking up some of the chores which were previously mine really helped whilst I was feeding
2) Australian Breastfeeding Association membership - was gifted to me by my cousin-in-law & I found the weekly meetings really beneficial from a both knowledge & social perspective
3) Society - I didn’t receive a negative comment whilst feeding that made me feel uncomfortable in the entire journey (& I breastfed everywhere, parks, cafes, restaurants, ice skating rinks, the beach, libraries etc). This helped me feel confident and more comfortable to meet my little ones needs when out & about.

My firstborns first breastfeed 💙
After a traumatic delivery and his quick stint on respiratory support this was such a special moment.
What helped us on our breastfeeding journey:
1) the support of the nursing staff in NICU to get us space to breastfeed & the midwife in charge allowed me to stay on the postnatal ward so I could breastfeed on demand whilst he was still admitted for antibiotics.
(& yup this latch is not ideal & was pinching….no cheeks to breast in this one 😂)
