Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is housing designed for people with very high support needs. SDA homes are built with features like wider doorways, ramps, hoists, and accessible layouts. While SIL funds the supports you receive, SDA is about the bricks and mortar that make safe and independent living possible.

Quality care transforms lives — and now, it’s getting a major boost.
The NDIA’s Quality Supports Program is backed by $45M in funding for:

✔ Therapy services
✔ Supported Independent Living (SIL)
✔ Support coordination

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴?
✔ Therapy pilot ($20M) launching later this year
✔ SIL & Support Coordination pilots ($25M+) already underway
✔ Data gathered will support long-term sustainability & better outcomes

It’s a big step toward a stronger NDIS for all.

Disability Minister Mark Butler confirmed children with autism and developmental delays will be transitioned off the NDIS and into the Thriving Kids Program.

The aim: more appropriate support for children, and long-term sustainability for the NDIS.
