At Vision Hospital Group, patient care is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why feedback from our patients and their families is so important. It helps us celebrate our successes and continuously improve where we can.

We’re proud to share that our most recent surveys resulted in a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 89 – a world-class result that reflects the trust and satisfaction of our patients. 👏

While we’re delighted by this feedback, our commitment doesn’t stop here. Guided by The Vision Way, we listen, learn and act on every piece of feedback to ensure our patients always feel safe, supported and cared for.

Milestone moment – Boroondara Day Surgery celebrates 1,000 patients! 🎉🥳

Part of the Vision Hospital Group family, our Hawthorn-based Boroondara Day Surgery has proudly treated its 1,000th patient just two years after opening its doors – a true testament to the exceptional care and expertise of our entire team. The surgery was performed by ophthalmologist Dr Jennifer Gaskin.

Director of Nursing, Margarette Cortez, credits this to a dedicated team with a positive and collaborative spirit that puts patients first at every step.

Boroondara Day Surgery’s growth reflects not just the numbers, but the quality of experience for patients.

Thinking of reaching for a hanky after your eye injection or surgery? Think again.

Used handkerchiefs can harbour germs that transfer easily to your eyes and put you at risk of a serious, potentially blinding infection.

Instead of a hanky:
✅ Use tissues
✅ Throw them away immediately
✅ Wash your hands thoroughly.

Protect your vision – ditch the hanky! 🤧

Windsor Gardens Day Surgery has recently been in the news (for all the right reasons)!

Channel 10 News dropped by to chat with a 3rd year Flinders University nursing student, Vanshika, about her placement experience at our state-of-the-art facility.

They also spoke with Jane Griffiths, CEO of Day Hospitals Australia, and Anne Hentschke, Membership Manager of Day Hospitals Australia – making it a special day for everyone involved.

If you’re a nursing student eager to gain hands-on experience in specialist ophthalmic theatres and world-class operating suites, we’d love to hear from you!

From textbooks to theatre scrubs, Bokki got the full Vision Eye Institute and Vision Hospital Group experience!

We were delighted to host Bokki, a final-year optometry student from Flinders University, for his placement at Vision Hospital Group’s Windsor Gardens Day Surgery and across our South Australian clinics.

Under the guidance of Dr Paul Athanasiov, Dr Soo Ng, Dr Tiger Zhou, Dr Simone Beheregaray and our clinical optometry team, Bokki gained valuable hands-on exposure to both optometry and ophthalmology.

He described his time with the team as ‘an amazing experience that gave me rich clinical insights to take into my future career.’

👏 We wish Bokki every success as he prepares to graduate and step into the world of optometry!

Optometrists interested in theatre and clinical observations with Vision Hospital Group and Vision Eye Institute can contact Stephanie Stavrinakis and Cindy Trieu.

Cheers to 15 years! 🥂 Congratulations, Gaby Kalofonos, on this milestone.

Reflecting on her journey, Gaby shares what her time with Vision Hospital Group has meant to her:

'Over the past 15 years at VHG, my team has become like a second family. We support, care for, and look out for one another every day – and that’s what makes coming to work so special.

VHG has also been important in my professional growth. I’ve had incredible opportunities to attend conferences and seminars, and I’ve always felt encouraged to keep learning and evolving, whether that be as an ophthalmic nurse or a manager.' – Gabriela Kalofonos, Director of Nursing, Forest Road Day Surgery
