Peppa the beautiful 3 year old Labrador retriever came to see Dr Mike and nurse Tiffany for her yearly vaccination. She brought in her teddy to show everyone and couldnโ€™t contain her excitement! Just look at that entire body wiggle!! Dr Mike was equally as excited to see her, but then had to calm her down to get her needle!! What a cutie! Check out the very excited Peppa and Teddy video in the comments.

๐Ÿถ Daisy the adorable Cocker Spaniel saw Dr Ben and nurse Breanna for her first puppy check and during her examination they saw she had a condition know as โ€œbase narrow caninesโ€, or โ€œlinguoverted teethโ€.

๐Ÿฆท This is condition when the canine teeth of the lower jaw (mandible) are displaced and hit the soft tissue of the upper jaw (maxilla) and cause trauma and discomfort. If left untreated these canine teeth can create a hole in the hard palate leading to further issues. Because the deciduous (puppy) teeth are very sharp, this causes pain every time the pup closes its mouth, so removal of these teeth is usually recommended.

๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿปโ€โš•๏ธDaisy was booked in a few days later with Dr Mike to have the problematic puppy teeth removed. She was the perfect patient for the day and despite having a very comfortable bed to rest and recover in, she spent most of her day being cuddled by our staff. ๐Ÿฅฐ

๐Ÿˆ Walter is a 6 year old who presented to see Dr Heather and nurse Maddie as his owner was worried about one of his toes. On examination his toe was sitting at a very odd angle - either due to dislocation or fracture! Dr Heather discussed the various treatment options and recovery times and in the end it was decided that the fastest road to recovery for this adventurous feline, was to amputate his toe.

๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€โš•๏ธHe had surgery performed with Dr Penny to amputate the problematic toe, which went well. Fractured toes are hard to manage in both dogs and cats, due to the difficulties keeping them confined, keeping a bandage on and regular bandage changes. Often the best way to manage these is via amputation, which is what was elected for Walter. He is now one toe down, but still up to all his usual mischief!
