Congratulations to our CHALLENGER OF THE WEEK for Week 5 - Leanne 🎉

Leanne has been unstoppable throughout this challenge, locked in, focused and staying consistent in her sessions always pushing hard and giving 100% 
 
A 6:05am regular, consistently hitting those 4-5x sessions a week, Leanne is always waking up bright and early to start her day off in the right way. Whether she’s training with her trusty workout pals or anyone else she’s always bringing some friendly chatter and positive energy into the room.

With her name finally up on that Lionheart board 😂 she’s making her mark lightning it up. The extra push and determination to focus on going the extra mile in her sessions has been evident, digging deep to work that little bit harder.

Focusing on form and technique, whilst also aiming to continue with the weight progression, Leanne is constantly eager to take on coaches feedback and tips to improve her performance.

We are all super proud of you and your focus, we have loved helping you strive towards your goals in this challenge.

It’s strength day on the agenda today - check out Coach Sams 5 pre workout prep tips for strength day 👇🏻

1. Be well rested / recovered
Quality sleep is the most potent recovery tool you have in your toolbox.
Prioritise getting a minimum of 7hrs over a 24 hr period.

2. Be appropriately fuelled ( nutrition )
If you train fasted (first thing in the morning on an empty stomach) prioritise slowly digesting proteins and carbohydrates in evening meal the night before to ensure amino acids are still in the blood stream to help you avoid catabolising muscle tissue and ensured close to full glycogen stores.
Eg. Steak and potatoes or chicken and rice etc…plus veggies for additional fibre and to help slow digestion.

If training a little later.. after at least one meal and your after a little nutritional top up pre training try easy to digest foods 1-2 hours before trainer, personal preference will play a major role in your choices.

Some popular choices for example..
Protein shake
Yogurt
Fruit

Caffeinated beverages are an option if you are able to tolerate them and they don’t impact your sleep.
There are compounds in dark chocolate that work wonderfully well for vasodilation ( making veins larger to promote more blood flow to muscles )

3. Be adequately hydrated
Being well hydrated does not mean just drinking enough water, what determines if your body stores that water into muscle tissue is dependant on salt as the flux and transporting vehicle. Think minerals and electrolytes.

4. Appropriate attire
Lose fitting or tight fitting stretchy breathable clothing.
Especially important for lower body strength days… shoes with a firm ( not spongy / not running shoes ) sole and a wide toe box that allow you to spread out your toes in the shoe.
Your ability for force production is dependent on stability and on lower body days this mean whole foot in contact with the full surface of the ground without a flexible layer in between to disrupt your balance.

5. Nurture a calm centred mindset
Do what you need to do to quiet your mind. Meditating, sitting still for a few moments, adhering to pre training rituals etc..
Set your intentions prior and move with purpose.

Congratulations to our August Member of the Month - Anthony Witton🎉

After much gentle persuasion
from his wonderful wife Lindy Anthony finally took the plunge and joined the fitfam kicking off his journey with us like a firecracker. Anthony has been an awesome energy in the studio, always coming in with a big smile and ready to give 100% to each and every session and settling into F45 Kew life like a
Pro. Always pushing with a hard-working mindset, you have been an absolute pleasure to coach.

We love your positive spirit and the friendly and motivating nature you bring to our studio and community. Always up for a challenge, ready to give every hotspot station everything you have and participating in the friendly competition and in studio events. Always giving everything a crack and pushing out of the comfort zone, taking on all cues and coaches feedback and implementing into your sessions.

Our team are so proud of how far you have come in your health and fitness journey and we love seeing your face bright and early as a regular in the 6.05am session with your partner in crime by your side encouraging you every step of the way.

Congratulations to our CHALLENGER OF THE WEEK for Week 4 - Matteo 🎉🌟

Matteo has been on fire throughout the Challenge, clocking up the sessions day in day out and always giving 💯.

If you’ve trained alongside him in a session you know he’s always up for a friendly chat and always offering encouragement and positive vibes.

Focusing on his form and technique and aiming to continue his weight progression with his weight selection he’s delivering some incredible power lifts.

The king of the sled push he’s always adding an extra plate here or there not only to his sled but to everyone else’s 😂

Super proud of your focus and determination and your motivation to level up and show up every single day and own your session.

We’re kicking off our Never Miss a Monday theme with Mont Blanc, expect the battle ropes out in force and some sneaky bench hops to work up a sweat kicking off Week 5 of the Challenge 💦

Coming along for the ride this phase we have Triple Double, Double Down, Romans Loyals and Noho to name a few - its all happening.. also look out for a brand new workout hitting the program too 🫢

A different workout EVERY DAY hitting all bases with our cardio, strength and hybrid sessions.
