Oxygen is only 21% of the air we breathe. Increasing oxygen involves optimising gas exchange. The way we breathe and the breathing patterns we maintain through out the day and night determine the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the body. Slow, light and low breathing increases oxygen uptake in our body and supports healthy levels of carbon dioxide in the blood. Mouth breathing, heavy/big breathing and fast breathing dumps too much carbon dioxide from the body. When carbon dioxide levels are low, oxygen delivery to our tissues and cells decreases.
