Saturday paddling winter vibes!

Crisp conditions saw 18 keen Pink Phoenixes all rugged up in their winter finest- Beanies, scarves, layers upon layers- we made a merry sight in our pink!

We are training now for the first regatta of the season - BOB- the Battle Of the Barwon river!
We need to tackle distance and a short sprint at this particular event.
Kris was on the sweep oar getting in some more training, and we loved having Astrid back in the boat — she’s keen to join us officially! Welcome aboard !

How incredible were the recent International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) World Championships! Congratulations to our amazing Auroras Paradragon Julie! We also say well done to the inaugural Breast Cancer Survivor Paddlers for showcasing the power of pink paddling with some epic races. Sad that Australia wasn’t there, but hopefully in Hong Kong 2027 the Aussie BCPs will get a chance to race with the best 💖🐲🔥💪

The International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) World Championships have just wrapped up – and we couldn’t be prouder of our very own Julie Pretner!

Julie represented the National Australian Dragon Boat team as a vision-impaired athlete in the inaugural Auroras Paradragons crew!! –

Fierce competition, incredible paddling, and such a strong spirit from all involved. Well done, Julie – you’ve inspired us all with your dedication to training - we know how hard you worked for this moment!
There were two Aussie Paradragons crews- PD 1s and PD 2s at the worlds which shows the power of dragon boating as an inclusive sport in this country.

Windy winter conditions? No problem for this amazing crew!

We had almost a full boat out on the water today- 19 on board - proof that a little chill can’t keep a good team down.

A special highlight was welcoming our brand new Come and Try paddler Astrid-who came along after reading about dragon boat paddling recently in the Good Weekend Magazine !
It’s always inspiring to see how sharing our story can spark someone else’s journey.

Pink Phoenix members Kate, Kris, Donna and Andrea joined two Dragon Boat Victoria crews for some fun demonstration dragon boat races in front of a massive crowd of around 80,000 people!
Perfect weather, stunning Docklands lights, and a brilliant chance to showcase dragon boating to our community

Kris, and Sally took on the challenge of sweeping – with Yvonne and Julie there to support them every step of the way! Well done on trying something new ladies- Orange suits you!
