When your lunch is low-key working on your anxiety 🧡

This isn’t just a pretty salad (so pretty though right!). No, it’s actually packed with omega-3s 🐟, one of the most powerful nutrients for supporting your mood and your gut health.

Oily fish like smoked salmon contain EPA and DHA, two forms of omega-3 fatty acids that:

🧠 Help reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression

🌿 Lower gut inflammation and support the gut lining

BUT REMEMBER… not all pickles are made the same. If you really want the probiotic effect, you need to look out for the labels that say “Fermented”. These will also be the ones without vinegar ❌

Check the refrigerated section at your local supermarket or there are plenty of amazing local brands online to order from.

Is Medication the Only Answer to Anxiety & Depression? 💊

In our society, the first line of help for anxiety and depression is often medication, followed by therapy, and then… nothing. 🤔

While I totally support medication and know it can be crucial in many cases, it’s concerning that many doctors aren’t educated on the abundance of nutritional and lifestyle treatments that could really help… before resorting to medication.

Imagine if mental healthcare prioritised healing from within - balancing the mind and body through diet and daily habits, instead of immediately resorting to medications that can disrupt hormonal health, have long-term consequences like bone density issues in women, impact libido, and lead to weight gain or emotional numbness.

While medication absolutely has its place, it’s important to know that there is more support out there for long-term anxiety and depression care 🌿✨
