π€πβ€οΈ National Sorry Day 2026 β€οΈππ€
Today, we honour and remember the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children of the Stolen Generations who were forcibly removed from their families, communities, Country, language and culture.
National Sorry Day provides an opportunity to mourn, reflect and commit to doing better. Across Australia, communities will come together through commemorative events to acknowledge the lasting impacts of these policies and to stand in solidarity with survivors, their families and descendants.
This yearβs theme, βFrom Sorry to Action,β is a powerful reminder that acknowledgment alone is not enough. It reflects the expectation that governments and communities take urgent, tangible and measurable steps towards healing, justice and reconciliation within survivorsβ lifetimes.
While saying sorry demonstrates compassion, meaningful action is what creates lasting change.
At Invictus Disability Support Services, we stand with First Nations peoples in recognising the truth of our shared history and supporting a future built on respect, healing and justice for all.
