But many of the habits that shape our lives are running on autopilot.

The way you speak to yourself.
The way you react to challenges.
The habits you repeat every day.
What you’re choosing to put in and on your body.

They often happen so automatically that you don’t even notice them.

And here’s the truth:

You can’t change a pattern you can’t see.

The moment you notice the habit…
you create the space to choose differently.

Sometimes the most powerful shift is simply this:

“I finally see what I’ve been doing.”

I used to say yes to everything.

Late nights.
Busy weekends.
No sleep.
Full schedule.

Now I say
“Let me see how I feel.”
“I need a slow day.”
“That’s too much for me.”

And I thought I was becoming boring.

But really…

I just stopped living in survival mode
and started listening to my body.

Turns out
peace feels better than pressure.

The routine sets in.
The pace picks up.
And the patterns come back.

Always busy.
Always thinking.
Always carrying everything.

For years I thought that was normal.

Just part of being a woman.

But it wasn’t normal.

It was survival mode.

Living like everything is urgent
even when nothing is.

And the moment you see that pattern…

You stop performing your life
and start choosing it.

You don’t have an anger problem.
You have perimenopause and cortisol.

And no one prepared high-functioning women for that combo.

You built your life on discipline, pushing through, holding it all together, being the one people rely on.

Then suddenly…
You’re reactive.
Your sleep is off.
Your patience is gone.

Everything feels louder, heavier, harder.

And the worst part?

You start questioning yourself.

“Why am I like this?”
“Why can’t I handle things the way I used to?”

“Why does everything irritate me now?”

This is where so many women turn on themselves.

But this isn’t a personality flaw.

This is a nervous system that’s been running on cortisol for years…
meeting a hormonal shift that won’t let you override your body anymore.

Perimenopause doesn’t break you.
It exposes the cost of survival mode.

And cortisol doesn’t mean you’re weak.

It means you’ve been strong for too long without regulation.

You don’t need more discipline.
You need nervous system safety.
Subconscious rewiring.
Support instead of push.

This is the shift from surviving like a machine…
to leading your life like a regulated, powerful woman.

As the week winds down and a new one is about to begin, it’s a good time to notice what’s actually supporting you.

Because whatever you focus on… grows.

So what have you been giving your energy to this week?

And most of the time, we’re choosing without even realising.

For me, my weekends waking up with the big boy, brings me joy, peace, gratitude and his sheer size humbles me.

There’s a joy that feels grounding, not overwhelming.

You know when something is good for you, your body tells you. Do you listen?

s you move into the new week, pay attention to how things feel.

Be honest about it.

That awareness alone will shape the direction you take next.

I listen to meditation as I fall asleep,
so my nervous system winds down before my mind does.

I wake up in gratitude and with intention, before the world gets to me.

I walk after my main meal, to stabilise blood sugar, not punish my body.

I take my hormone-support drops consistently, not just when I remember.

I prioritise protein and fibre when I break my fast, because energy starts there.

Nothing extreme.
Nothing trendy.
Just habits that support the body I live in now.

I stopped trying to fight my hormones…
and started working with them.

I commit to myself first, because when I feel good so does everyone around me.
