Of course she can! 👍

With this dress, Joanna eased in the bust area to minimise any gaping, adjusted the neckline and replaced the buttons at the back to give the correct fit. 🙌

Joanna had altered two lovely bridesmaids dresses before the new year. 💃🏼💃🏼

She adjusted both the busts on the dresses, one to fit the fuller figure and tapered the other.
With both dresses Joanna had to take off the bottom ruffle (flounce) to reshape the dress.

Joanna altered the bodice by taking the sides in, added in boning and created darts to reshape the bust. She also tamed the ‘puffy’ skirt by re-shaping it.🪡👗

About Joanna

A keen eye for detail and passion for helping people look stylish!

Joanna first began altering dress patterns and making clothing as a young girl. She was fascinated with changing shapes and altering high street finds to create a better fit and unique look.

Realising she had a knack for creating stylish pieces, Joanna formalised her training with a Masters and Diploma of Fashion Design at RMIT. Her designs have won awards, including gown of the year in 1981.

​Joanna consults on garment and pattern making and teaches fashion tailoring privately.
