Some people don’t just do their job — they fight with everything they have to make sure someone is seen, heard, and respected.

For the past two years, Deirdre from Disability Justice Australia has been a relentless, compassionate force in Mark’s life — making sure his voice was heard and his rights upheld.

Thanks to her advocacy, Mark is now able to stay in Melbourne — where he feels safe, supported, and empowered to step into the fullness of life after years of being silenced.

It’s been a long road, and Liz from our team has walked it closely with Deirdre every step of the way. But it was Deirdre’s fierce commitment to justice that helped shift the system and protect Mark’s right to choose.

To Deirdre — and the rest of the Disability Justice Australia team who fight tirelessly behind the scenes — thank you. Your work is life-changing.

Last Friday, we celebrated the remarkable Paul.

Four years ago, Paul was without stable housing. But he held on to one powerful belief: “My life is going to get better and better.” 💛

With the support from Choice and the NDIS, Paul found purpose and community, and he paid it forward. From offering a roof to friends in need, to uplifting others through kindness, Paul has shown us what true strength and selflessness look like.

The Lilydale Star Mail captured his story beautifully! Comment READ and we’ll send you the full article!

When team synergy turns into twinning! 👯‍♂️

Sean and Beth rocked up today in matching outfits—unplanned.
Same jackets, same jeans, same Choice tee… same wavelength?
Great minds—or just spending way too much time together? 😄

Turning the volume up on mental health. 🎶💙

So proud to have the wonderful Brendan and Nic representing Choice at Beats for the Blues in the Illawarra — where music, mental health, and community come together.

More than just great tunes, this grassroots event is about connection, breaking stigma, and creating space for real conversations.

Huge respect to the Beats for the Blues team for building something bold, beautiful, and deeply needed.

Throwback to our Easter Party 🐣✨
It wasn’t just about the food (though that was good too).
It was about being together—laughing, talking, showing up for each other.

Moments like these remind us that community doesn’t just happen.
We build it—one shared story, one honest chat, one vulnerable moment at a time.

And underneath it all is Jesus—the reason for Easter, the one who shows us how to love.....'The Way, The Truth, The Life'. (John 14:6)💛

Some days are easier with company.
Not deep talks. Not big plans. Just being near someone who gets it.

Sharing a moment. A bit of quiet. A laugh that surprises you.

We’re not here to fix each other. Just to do life together.

19/05/2025

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can offer isn’t a service—it’s an invitation.

Not to fix anything.
Not to push anyone.
Just to say: “You’re welcome here. As you are.”

For people living with mental health challenges, trauma, or long stretches of feeling isolated, it can take real courage just to show up.

That’s why simple things—being greeted with kindness, having someone save you a seat, or just sitting in a space where you don’t have to pretend—can mean more than we realise.

Community doesn’t happen through big, grand gestures. It happens in the quiet, everyday stuff. The little moments that tell someone: You belong.

And when people feel that, they’re more likely to take the next step—whatever that looks like for them.

Let’s keep creating spaces that are real, welcoming, and safe enough for people to show up in their own time, in their own way.
