A full-circle moment ✨

We first met Elise Loehnen at The Melbourne Apothecary long before we opened our doors at MECCA - and yesterday, eight weeks into this incredible collaboration, we welcomed her back.

Her visit felt like a beautiful check-in - a reminder of how far we’ve come, and what we can create next. 🌿

We deeply admire Elise’s work - the way she questions, listens, and brings such honesty and depth to the modern wellness conversation. She reminds us that true wellbeing asks for curiosity and courage, as much as care.

Today we’ve been in awe of the beauty of witch hazel (Hamamelis) thanks to our gorgeous neighbours in MECCA - a plant that carries both elegance in bloom and depth in medicine. Its golden petals unfurl in the cool seasons, while inside its leaves and bark lie compounds long cherished for skin health, circulation, and tissue repair.

Traditionally valued for its astringent qualities, Hamamelis helps to tone and soothe - calming irritated skin, supporting recovery after birth, and easing the heaviness of varicose veins. With its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant actions, it remains a trusted ally in modern natural medicine, often found in creams, tonics, and compresses. One of our most loved handmade creams at is witch hazel based for haemorrhoids after childbirth.
