I’m a bit behind the eight ball with this post.

Oh, well.

In a world that is embracing AI I’ve decided to shift my focus more to HI.

Human Intelligence.

made or produced by human beings rather than occurring naturally

Instead of relying on technology to communicate, this year I have spent more time walking and talking with friends and hosting face to face gatherings.

Creating meaningful connections.

I have been picking up the phone to chat rather than texting.

Call me old and perhaps old fashioned.

I may accomplish less each day but am I’m achieving more?

I’ve been working as a Thermomix Consultant for twelve years and have introduced the product to almost 950 people and, I have just decided to step up - becoming a Team Leader (whilst remaining a Consultant).

What started as an activity to provide some financial independence/ pocket money, Thermomix has become the longest ‘career’ I’ve ever had.

I am not just selling a kitchen appliance.
I am creating a community.
I have a purpose.

I know I have inspired others to MOVE more.

I know that I will to continue to GROW food to share with my family, friends and wider community.

I know that I will continue to harvest produce and educate people to COOK plastic and preservative free food in their Thermomix.

I practice what I preach and post on a daily basis.

This is my story.

Ironic. I started writing this post on 5 August, 2025…

Simon says, “people don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it”.

So, what is my ‘why’?

If you have been following along I’m hoping you know by now.

But, there are always newbies here (thank you) so please let me explain.

I’m just a very small cog in this chaotic wheel called life - simply attempting to my best on a daily basis.

I genuinely hope that with each new owner I introduce to the world of Thermomix I provide a portal to a whole new world of possibilities.

The possibility of moving more (I was once an eco personal trainer - your body is all the equipment you need), inspiring people to grow food even it’s a few herbs and cooking delicious preservative free food in your Thermomix. Living simply.

It has taken me 12 years but I have just stepped into the role as Thermomix Team Leader.

Why?

Well, my Team Leader of 10 years decided to step down so I thought “it’s time I stepped up”.

This morning I received and opened a little Team Leader welcome gift from Thermomix.

Inside was a copy Simon Sinek’s book, “Leaders Eat Last”.

I have hosted a Saturday morning walking group for 18 years. I always say to newbies “we walk as fast as the slowest walker”. Like my quote, I’m guessing the title of Simon’s book was derived from the wolf pack theory.

Observe a pack of wolves.

You will often find that the elders or sick always lead the pack. They set the pace. In the middle of the pack you’ll find the strongest wolves. The last wolf is the Leader. Being last he is able to see observe everything and is on standby should he need to protect his pack.

Why do some teams pull together and other’s don’t?

Well, time will tell. I’m very much looking forward to reading what Simon says, the man is a genius.

I have been a Consultant with Thermomix and it has taken me 12 years to step up to becoming a Team Leader.

And, the luck of the duck is with me. 🦆

I was chatting with my friend last night and I paused our conversation to write this quote down.

Julie was the former owner of Power Pantry - a health food cafe in Malvern. That's how we met over 15 years ago. She fuelled our Oxfam Trailwalker team with nutritious food - essential nutrients to complete the 100 kilometre event.

Julie has created thousands of recipes for many well known celebrities - I just wish she had been credited for ALL of them.
