Moira Tobin - Duck's Back - move.grow.cook & Thermomix Move naturally, grow food and cook with me! Melbourne based 'zero waste' Thermomix Consultant. My philosophy is that exercise should not cost a fortune. Moira x

I have something in common with every one of you... a heart beat and only 168 hours a week to juggle family, work, household duties (cooking!) and exercise! Before having four children I worked behind the scenes at many of Australia’s major sporting and artistic events. My carefree weekends were spent training for marathons, triathlons and fun runs, or cycling through parts of our beautiful country. Spare time was spent educating myself about the benefits of good nutrition. After having children my career change to qualify as a Personal Trainer was a natural one. As an eco fitness trainer I have discovered that nature is the perfect gymnasium. I’ve also found ways to incorporate exercise into my daily household routines. Having studied permaculture design, I am converting my suburban backyard into a productive food orchard. You are what you eat. My Thermomix certainly helps to feed a growing family healthy, nutritious food that they’ll enjoy eating and that won’t break the bank. I believe if you are armed with the right advice, a positive attitude, a willing (and able) body and have access to the great outdoors, you will discover infinite ways to exercise consciously and effectively whilst achieving sustainable results. No matter what title you hold or how busy you are... your path to health and wellness can become like “water off a duck’s back!”. Sharing the journey together.

It would have been very un-Australian of me not to make lemon curd chia pudding.

This little glass of deliciousness was waiting for me after my bike ride this morning.

Last year we went to and they served chia puddings every morning for breakfast.

This recipe might be the inso to get me back into this healthy habit. Google it…it’s trending!

It would have been very un-Australian of me not to make Nikalene Riddle's (aka Skinnymixers) lemon curd chia pudding.

This little glass of deliciousness was waiting for me after my bike ride this morning.

Last year we went to a health retreat and they served chia puddings every morning for breakfast.

This recipe might be the inso to get me back into this healthy habit.

Every week I share the What’s Cooking statistics with my Thermimox customers.

There are two flyers.

The top 12 recipes on Cookidoo.

And, the top 12 recipes in The Recipe Community.

Do you know the difference between the two platforms?

They are both Thermomix (Vorwerk) owned and operated.

Cookidoo are tried and tested Thermomix recipes.

The Recipe Community allows home chefs like you and me to share our creations.

You can save Recipe Community recipes to Cookidoo* with the click of a button - essentially giving you another 30,000 plus recipes.

I always advise you to read the ratings and reviews with the Recipe Community recipes. People are not shy with feedback these days.

This is my recipe:
https://www.recipecommunity.com.au/sauces-dips-spreads-recipes/raw-tahini-dressing/myv40sep-bdda8-561039-beea0-lrchxrgy

I want you to read the reviews. They are all fabulous!

I then want you to make the recipe.

I then want you to place your own review and share the recipe so everyone makes it.

I really want my recipe to rate in the Top 12 Recipe Community Recipes one day!!

Raw Tahini Dressing takes minutes to make. It is simple, healthy and bloody delicious. Happy tummies.

Use as a salad dressing.

Use with eggs.

Use on top of roast potatoes.

Use in a sandwich.

And, any protein really.

Thank me later.

Score!

As they say, one person‘s trash is another person‘s treasure.

On my walk this morning I found this pot of coriander on hard rubbish.

I grabbed it. I know many people who would literally throw it in the bin! 🤣

In a few weeks I will harvest (possibly) a thousand seeds from this one little plant.

I'll then sow.
Grow.
Consume and gift.
Let it go to seed.
Harvest seeds.
Repeat.

If I was organised enough I could plant coriander seeds every six weeks and I would never have to buy coriander again...saving hundreds of plastic bags from landfill.

Happy dance! 💃

I feel as though my New Year has just begun.

I have spent a few (rare) days in (almost) solitude.
I have needed time to pause.

Christmas, New Year’s, my birthday.
Family, friends, lots of entertaining.
Fabulous but exhausting.
Many of you can relate?

I was in the garden this afternoon and stopped to look at the tree that was responsible for creating such a beautiful ‘mess’.

You’ve possibly read the ‘common’ quotes about taking advice from a tree?

Stand tall and proud.
Stay grounded.
Don’t stop growing.
Remember your roots.
Drink plenty of water.
Go out on a limb.

But for me there is one important piece of advice that’s missing.

It has been overlooked and completely relevant.

Now is the time to heed the most important advice from a tree.

It’s that time to exhale and ‘shed’.

Shed any negative thoughts.
Shed and remove negative people from your life.
Shed light on what inspires you.

I've enjoyed the silence and I'm lookiing forward to my 2026.

This award / recognition has zero to do with me…it belongs to YOU for supporting my Thermomix business.

It was just announced that I was number one Consultant for Mix Shop sales in our Victorian Branch - The Central Mixers for 2025!

Thank you always for popping my name down at the checkout when you purchase items from the Thermomix Mix Shop.

I find it hilarious because you can see on every post I say “buy what you need”. Discouraging everyone from buying ‘stuff’.

I’m such a lucky duck.

Moira…your zero waste Thermomix Consultant!

Oh what a feeling!

2025 kilometres of recorded walks in 2025 achieved. Nothing like leaving it until the last day.

And, as usual, I am holding rubbish in my hand and my pockets are full of little plastic pieces of trash - collected on my walk today.

My walking adventures have been many this year....our local (fabulous) trails, several hikes at Wilsons Prom, an overnight trip to Cathedral Ranges, 3 Capes in Tasmania, the Blue Mountains (just wow), Fiji and Noosa.

Thank you everyone for sharing the journey and participating in this fabulous annual goal.

Without our Walk The Year - 2025kms in 2025 group and the accountability I really don't think I would achieve this goal.

Bring on 2026 and discovering more walks in nature.

Who's going to join the 'challenge' next year?
