This month the clinic has turned into a pink haven as we raise awareness for breast cancer, here are 3 quick facts about breast cancer 👇

1. Screening is key to increasing chance of survival- a regular breast screen is best to detect it early 💪

2. ⁠9/10 women diagnosed with breast cancer have no family history of the disease.🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒

3. ⁠There is no correlation between breast size and cancer risk.📉

Breast Cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia, particularly prominent amongst women.

October is the month where we raise awareness, celebrate the survivors and stand with those fighting 💗💗

Whilst breast cancer is a scary disease 87% of all patients survive at least 10 years after their diagnosis in its early stages.

This is all thanks to the hard working medical staff and scientists that continuously work to evolve its treatment 🧫🔬

MedicFirst Medical Centre has been formally recognised by the North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWMPHN) for our outstanding efforts during the recent public health crisis.

Jessica Holman, Director, Primary Health Care Improvement, presented the certificates to us at a celebration dinner and said “MedicFirst Medical Centre was by far the most important healthcare facility during the crisis, providing the greatest support to the community when it mattered most.”

In addition to the clinic being recognised for excellence, Ali Alhamdani, Business Manager, had the honour of co-signing NWMPHN certificates for key team members.
Their commitment to excellence, particularly in the face of crisis, is commendable and deserves nothing less than the highest praise.

We are incredibly fortunate to work alongside such talented, diligent and compassionate team members, who are able to have such a positive impact and rise to the occasion when the community calls on them. Our deep connection to the local community enables us to have the trust of our patients and treat them when they need us most.

📣CHAMPIONS – Tony Cassar Cup! 🏆

💙What a year it’s been for our U8 Raptors! 💙
After going through the entire league season unbeaten, the boys carried that form into the Tony Cassar Cup on Saturday, topping their group with 2 wins and a draw, without conceding a single goal. 💪

In the Grand Final, they dug deep in a tight contest against AltonaCity SC and came out 1–0 winners to lift the trophy 🏆
Incredible teamwork, determination, and skill from start to finish, an amazing effort from the whole squad and the perfect way to cap off a hugely successful 2025 season! 👏 ⚽💙

A massive thank you to Altona City SC for hosting another well-run Tony Cassar Cup event, we’re grateful for the opportunity to be part of it. 🙌

Wishing all the best to the lovely Elijah in the Victorian U15 Tournament! Congrats to Elijah and family.

We are thrilled to let the Saltwater community know that our school captain, Elijah Petersen, has been selected to play for Rugby Victoria's U15 regional tournament this weekend. He will be playing for the Beek team which is for the Western region. As one of our talented rugby academy students, we are incredibly proud of Elijah for being selected for this opportunity and wish him, along with the team, the best of luck for the game!

Over the years at MedicFirst, you’ve become an essential part of our family. Your vibrant personality, kindness, patience, and skill make your presence felt. You’ve managed to nurture strong relationships with both the staff and your lovely patients, impacting them daily. You welcome each patient with your warm demeanor and witty jokes then provide them with the best care. It’s not rare to hear laughter echoing from inside the pathology room, and tells you a little bit about the person she is. Truly, she is one of the best.
