Treat the disabled as equals rather than as special cases. I hope others realize and understand that disabled individuals are not superior or inferior to any other human being. Disabled individuals are not trophies to be won or a charity case to help others feel or look better.

Due to an unknown ailment, Helen Keller became deaf-blind at the age of 19 months. Anne Sullivan, Helen's teacher and lifelong companion, taught her how to express herself.
Helen Keller went on to become the world's first graduate with deaf-blindness. Helen Keller's autobiography, The Story of My Life, is regarded as a classic work of English literature. She travelled the world, campaigning for anti-militarism, women's suffrage, labour rights, socialism, and other causes. Helen Keller is without a doubt one of the most well-known disabled people in the world.

Robert Michael Hensel was born with the birth defect known as Spina bifida. He is also a Guinness World Records holder for the longest non-stop wheelie in a wheelchair, covering a total distance of 6.178 miles.
