✨Georgia & Tom✨

What an absolute amazing birth to witness! Georgia was completely in her zone when I arrived and shortly after I got there her beautiful 4.3kg baby boy zoomed into this world!
After having some bleeding that was more than expected, a decision was jointly made to head off to see the team at the local hospital for a quick visit to ensure Georgia was remaining stable and safe. All of which was done with respect and positivity. We thank the team at Frankston Hospital and paramedics for making the experience smooth and woman centred. 🙏❤️

and , you 100% put in the groundwork for this home birth. Ensuring you had a good understanding of pelvic alignment, baby’s position and what you needed to do to bring your baby into this world in the comfort of your home.

You have adjusted amazingly to having two gorgeous boys, and have prioritised your health and wellbeing in this postpartum phase.

Congratulations and well done!!

✨Alice and Dave ✨

At 3am in the morning, after Alice’s epic home birth, her partner Dave was overcome with a need to put words down on paper about what he just witnessed.

And this is what was created:

We entered the headspace
Of our little birthing place
Our house became our womb
A haven warm and safe
with the halfblood moon
And a fire in the room
We worked hard together
And it felt like forever
We laboured with strength and persistence
gave way to resistance
And with a grand climax
We birthed our baby Max.

✨Jess & Marcus✨

I met Jess for a coffee one cold July morning last year, and she told me her birth story of Isla. It was unfortunately filled with disempowerment and trauma. Not just for Jess, but also for her partner Marcus.

We made plans early on to approach this pregnancy, birth and labour with a healthy balance of maternal instincts, choice and evidence based care. Jess was in the drivers seat, and I was along for an awesome ride!

As Jess approached the end of her pregnancy, her belief and confidence in herself only became stronger, and no one and nothing was standing in the way of her achieving the home birth of her dreams.

And that’s exactly what she did…

Surrounded by her most important people, Jess quite literally breathed her baby out into her arms, in one of the most serene births I have ever witnessed. Just in time for big sister Isla to wake up and meet beautiful baby Tahli!

Talk about being in midwife heaven!

Jess has entered into her postpartum with confidence, joy and peace that she has achieved her healing homebirth.

I’m so incredibly proud of both Jess and Marcus. They invested their time, money and faith into this process and most importantly into themselves.

Congratulations Jess and Marcus, I cannot thank you enough for letting me be your midwife, for inviting me into your family, and watching you reclaim your power.

✨ Tiesha & Leo ✨

Watching a woman step into motherhood is something I will never get enough of. That moment when she first sees her baby’s face is beautiful, humbling and so moving.
Tiesha understood the assignment when it came to allowing her body to instinctively bring her baby earthside last week.

Her labour was fierce, powerful and met with challenges that flexed Tiesha’s advocacy for herself. She was determined and stood her ground on what she needed to do for her labour. Her space was held by her sensational husband Leo and myself.

Standing and trusting her urges, Tiesha epically brought her baby girl into her arms safely.

All the education, emotional and psychological preparation meant that Tiesha and Leo have walked into parenthood with their heads held high and have been absolutely kicking goals ever since.

What an absolute privilege it has been to be your midwife Tiesha & Leo.

Chillin’ with baby Kami who is now 5 weeks old! What?!

She is absolutely thriving and clearly thinks I’m funny because I got some pretty awesome smiles 🥹😍

Wow! Stacie you are an absolute rockstar! What a an absolute storm of a labour yours was, but you absolutely nailed it. It was hard work, but you weren’t afraid and you leant into your knowledge and self-confidence. I am so very proud of you.

And what a natural, instinctive mum you are. Such a beautiful thing to see unfold.

There is something so special about being invited back into a family to be their midwife again.
I had the absolute privilege and honour of being Estelle’s midwife for the second and third baby of her beautiful family.

This beautiful little girl had her own plans of how she wanted to be born, but my oh my, was this birth so incredibly emotional and peaceful.

With just the essential midwives surrounding Estelle and Chase in a dark, intimate birth space, Estelle calmly breathed her baby out earth-side into her own hands. Baby Edith opened her eyes, gave a little cry, then studied her mum and dad’s faces with absolute love and wonderment.

Immediately after this birth, the love and joy was palpable in the room. This was only achieved by ensuring we had continuity of care, thorough counselling, informed consent and that the pace and choices were set by the woman.

To Estelle and Chase, thank you for letting me be apart of your journey to your first little girl.

Hi,

It’s been a while since I have done the “introducing myself” post, so here it is!

I’m Karley, an endorsed privately practicing midwife, located on the Mornington Peninsula.
I’m a mum to two amazing, energetic little girls and a wife to a very patient and understanding firefighter.

Private midwifery practice has always been, and always will be, my life’s calling. I am honoured that I can provide full continuity of care, including home birth services. I pride myself on providing care that is respectful, compassionate and centred around a woman’s choice and autonomy to her body and birthing rights.

I provide a combination of evidence-based information with midwifery intuition and knowledge that allows the client to feel comfortable to make their own informed decisions, without the fear of being judged or ridiculed.

I take on a smaller caseload to ensure that I can provide high quality care and give each client the love and attention that they deserve. Our appointments are in the comfort of your home and scheduled at a time that suits you and your family best.

When I am not working with my lovely clients, I am catching up with friends for coffee or dinner, spending time with my family camping, holidaying or getting out and about in Melbourne.

Yesterday marked the end of my time with the beautiful

Her gorgeous chunky boy is thriving and Natalie is taking her third postpartum in her stride. A woman’s body is so incredibly resilient. Natalie has made an amazing recovery and has a milk supply abundant enough to feed triplets!

I am so incredibly proud of you Nat. You prioritised your physical and mental health in your postpartum period, so you were able to care for your babies.
