The health check is a comprehensive assessment of tests and examinations to determine your risk of chronic diseases. It is a preventative health initiative, for Australians in their mid-to-late 40s to take a look at their health, identify potential chronic conditions early and reduce the risks.

As part of the health assessment, your GP might ask you about the following:

- Lifestyle (diet, exercise, smoking, and drinking)
- Signs of skin cancer
- Mental health condition
- Preconception care
- Family history of chronic disease

Measure:
- Weight and height
- Blood pressure
- Cholesterol

Assess the need for:
- Pap test
- Mammogram
- Vaccinations
- Testicular examination
- Prostate assessment

Calculate:
- Risk of diabetes
- Risk of fracture related to osteoporosis (women 45+ years)
- Cardiovascular risk

What happens after the health assessment?
Your GP may discuss lifestyle changes with you to help you lower your risk of developing a chronic health condition. They may also refer you to other services if you need them.

How do I get an sti check?

Getting an sti check is a simple process.

Book in for a consult with your GP, or ask them in your next appointment.

The doctor will ask you some questions about your sexual history, and then give you a pathology request form for the relevent sexual screening tests. You may do a blood test , urine sample or self-swab of ge***al area.

The tests can be done in our clinic after your appointment, but if you want to complete the test elsewhere or on a different day you can do it at any pathology clinic.

Reception staff or your doctor will call/sms when your results have come back which is usually between 2-5 business days.
