Introducing our Sunday handbuilding teacher Meg! (she/her)

Meg is a self-taught First Nations ceramicist. She began ceramics in 2018 as an outlet while working in the human services sector. Meg has explored mindfulness and connection to culture through the medium. She prefers hand building to wheel throwing due to the accessibility of the practice and will guide you through the fundamentals of handbuilding and facilitate play.

Feeling extremely grateful and lucky to have Meg and her knowledge of clay on offer over at Sunroom 👐🏻

Thrilled to introduce our hand building teacher Stephanie! You’ll see Steph around in our Thurs/Fri/Sat and kids classes! 🧡

Stephanie is an artist who has always gravitated to working with her hands and learning new practises – including clay, sculpture, music, art curation and installation.

Stephanie’s artistic education began at SoCA - School of Clay and Art, where she delved into the intricate world of handbuilding, sculpting, decorative techniques, and glazes. She has a background in psychology and over 10 years of experience working with children and young adults, through various roles including Educator and Support Worker.

Stephanie’s artistic practise has become a space for emotional healing, expression, and identity formation. This experience is what inspires her to curate nurturing and safe spaces, where others feel the freedom to express themselves.

She has a fluid teaching style, guided by students’ interests and abilities and I’m so stoked to have her at Sunroom Studio!
