I was a social chameleon for a long time.
I could fit in anywhere… but I didn’t feel like I belonged anywhere.

Fine on the outside.
Disconnected on the inside.

The lesson was simple:

Balance vs Alignment

We’re taught to chase balance.
Work. Relationships. Training. Rest.
But how much can you juggle without dropping anything?

Here’s what I’ve learned:

Balance is often what we reach for when we’re out of alignment.

When something in your life isn’t true, you compensate.
You work harder. Train more. Stay busy. Stay distracted.
You add weight to one area to make up for another.

It’s like a car with misaligned wheels - it can still drive, but only by adding extra load to the wheels.
And over time, that strain leads to burnout.

Alignment is different.

When your body, mind, and inner truth are pointing in the same direction, life requires less effort to hold together.

Less force.
Less noise.
Less “holding it all together.”

You don’t need to balance as much because nothing is pulling against you.

You know when you’re aligned.

Your body knows.
Your energy tells the truth.
You feel lighter, even when life is full.

So the question isn’t:
How do I find better balance?

It’s:
Where am I out of alignment?
And what am I afraid to let go of?

Alignment can feel like loss at first.
Rejection. Discomfort. Standing alone.

But if you stay with it, everything reorganises around truth.

Trust the process.
Trust in God. Source. The Universe.
When you are aligned you begin to flow. And you feel like you can finally breathe again because you have an inner knowing everything is going to be ok.

Be kind to yourself. And to others.

Persona - Consciousness - Shadow.

Persona - this is the version of ourselves we show to the world. Often because it is safe, and it’s the easiest way to fit in. It may not feel genuine but you do it anyway.

Consciousness - this is who you know you are under the mask of the persona. This is your true self. This is authenticity. Stay True To You is built around revealing this version of you - safely.

We can float between being our true selves and wearing a mask depending on situations and how we feel. Life is 10x better when you get comfortable removing the mask. The mask is our ego wanting to look and be seen as a certain identity because we think that is how we will be loved and accepted and validated.

Shadow - This is the part of ourself we hide subconsciously. Whenever we get triggered and we shift the blame onto others - “you did this”, “it’s your fault I’m angry” etc etc. That triggered part of you is your shadow.

This is where growth happens and why triggers are good things if used consciously and with intention.

Think of it like this - your mind is a garden in a dark room. Consciousness is choosing whether you want the lights on or not (this is why becoming more conscious is called an awakening - you are choosing to have the lights on). Awareness is choosing where you want the light to shine. Triggers are when the light shines on a place you were choosing for the light not to shine.

You can either get mad about the light shining there, or you can recognise it as a w**d and pull it out - but that takes work and it is hard.

When you realise the things you judge and the things that trigger you are just the light shining on those w**ds, you shift from victim to victor. You can then choose healing over suffering. You become more self-aware. You become more conscious. You awaken to yourself.

This takes compassion and kindness towards yourself and also patience. This is also easier if the people who are around you are like this too - this is why you can’t heal in the environment that got you to where you are in the first place. It’s like fighting an uphill battle (you can do it but it is a lot harder).

Most places teach you what to do.
This space helps you remember who you are.

Stay True To You is not a course, a hustle group, or a content feed.

It’s a community for people who are done pretending, done chasing external validation, and ready to live with clarity, integrity, and purpose.

This space is for you if:

• You feel there’s more to life than performance, productivity or appearances
• You want to align your mind, body, and soul - not optimise one at the expense of the others
• You value depth, reflection, and honest conversation

Very long overdue post this one 🤯

Let’s celebrate this huge achievement with 😍

Damien & I met around this time last year & started training on January the 10th. Number 4 to join the team!

He came to me as he was prepping for knee surgery but this man is a mad man & had signed up for a half marathon already… If that isn’t confidence I don’t know what is 🤯 (We love it!)

The initial phase of training was to prep for surgery on March 19th to have some bone removed that was causing issues with his knee. We did a lot of pre-hab which helped speed up his recovery. All credit goes to Damien for this as it shows his determination & drive towards his goal as he navigated that blip like nothing.

The next stage was prepping for the half mara on October 17th. 7 months - So in this time, he recovered from surgery & cranked out the run at an epic pace! Insane! 😳🤯

Damien was initially training 4 days per week of which one was a PT session with me but we dropped it to 3 as his running volume was crazy high. He is hitting 100km months.. Yes, madness!

His 3 day split is Upper, Lower & Full Body.

Some of the main movements we do are Trap Bar Deadlifts, Barbell Reverse Lunges, Barbell Front Squats, Barbell Hip Thrusts, Barbell Bench Press plus accessories.

As you can see, Damien has been smashing out all of the big barbell compound lifts. Why? Because they work. And he has shown that carrying out these lifts with consistency over time has helped keep his body in good condition to smash out his first half marathon at 48 years old.

He has signed up for the Gold Coast Marathon next year! 😍

There is so much to say about this man but Damien, I have loved working with you. Your dedication and drive is epic. You are super consistent & always push yourself all while navigating the challenges of life. You’re an inspiration to me & I’m sure to many others. You have shown you can still achieve crazy things even when faced with adversity. This is your heroes journey. You should be proud of your achievements this year, keep embracing the discomfort & backing yourself. You’ll achieve anything you set your mind to, I have no doubt! 🤗

USAPL Australia Nationals - October 27th 2024 in Melbourne

210kg Squat (10kg pb) | 125kg Bench (equal pb) | 265kg Deadlift (12.5kg pb)
Total: 600kg (22.5kg pb) @ 86.4kg BW

Thank you .reformance for coaching me the past few months and helping me achieve two of my long term goals - competing at a Nationals comp and hitting a 600kg comp total!

Alfred helped me regain motivation with training by teaching me some new skills I hadn’t used before (sumo deads, high pulls - to name a couple), and by creating a program that helped me maintain some level of strength while doing Muay Thai/Kickboxing.

I had qualified for this comp back in March and decided to take a break from training specifically for powerlifting in May as it was negatively effecting both my physical and mental health.

With 7 weeks to go until comp, I was feeling good so decided to register and full send it with the wildest prep yet 😳

I started training with both & .el.cowboy after taking a break from powerlifting. I’m super grateful for these two as they have helped me find a new passion outside of powerlifting. Along with Alfred, they helped me regain motivation with training and have helped me reach peak form!

As you can see I have many coaches. At one point I had 5 coaches at once for all different things 😍

Investing in myself has been the best thing ever as it has helped me improve my physical & mental health, helped me build a business doing what I love, overall it has improved my life in every aspect. I have let go of things that no longer align with me and I am surrounded by amazing people who have been super supportive which is all I could ever ask for.

Thank you to everyone who wished me luck and supported me on the day via the many stories I posted and dms (as well as on the live stream - Mum 😅🤪😝) and thank you for being there with me on the big day😍😅😂😂

I feel relieved. I feel grateful. And I feel very tired 😴

has been smashing some big goals lately! 🕺🕺

Ticked off his first run in years over the weekend and is on track to losing 10kgs this year 😍

Nate trains 3 weights per week with me pestering him plus 2 cardio sessions per week on the elliptical 🏋️

Current focus is building the consistency up with the cardio before adding in a third to help boost his cardiovascular fitness as well as helping to burn those extra cals to bring him closer to his goal.

Now doubt you’ll be seeing this legend with his shirt off at the beach in Summer 😉🔥🔥🔥

Grateful to have met this legend one evening while he was droppin’ it like it’s hot (squats for you non RNB folk 🤪).

Big win today smashing 82.5kg for a cruisy set of 4 on high bar squats. You’ll see him around soon smashing 100kg after his trip back to the mainland, I have no doubt 🇮🇪

Keep being the legend you are Ferg. I always love our sessions together and I’m grateful for our friendship 🙏❤️
