14 years.

At the start, my goals seemed out of reach.

‘You’ll never be big’

‘You’ll never lift that heavy’

‘You don’t have the right genetics’

🤨🧐🧐🧐🤨

I always told myself, if others can do it, why can’t I?

One of my good friends helped me start my journey and I shared the early days training with a few close friends. As time went by I wanted to learn and test myself more. I wanted to see what was possible.

I started working with coaches, all who are world class and amazing at what they do.

With their help I achieved things way beyond what I ever thought possible.

210kg Squat
135kg Bench Press
265kg Deadlift
10 body weight muscle ups
I started learning handstands
I started learning Muay Thai
Ran 10km in 40.32mins and 5km in 18mins

But it’s not that simple. Right?

‘Realistic’ is one of my least favourite words. And people throw it around way too often.

Realistic is where your dreams go to die.

There are times to be realistic and there are times you need to be delusional.

Delusion is believing in something that is beyond what you think your capabilities are but you strive for it anyway.

‘Reach for the stars and you’ll land amongst the clouds’ as they say.

When it comes to your health and fitness goals - have a bit of delusion. Delusion gets the ball rolling, because if you are still spinning your wheels and making no progress or always starting and stopping, you’re probably trying to be too ‘realistic.’

The longer you leave it, the harder it gets. When it comes to your health, there is no better time to prioritise it than now – it has positive effects on so many areas of your life. Don’t wait for a crisis to make a change.

Start small. 14 years in the game for me. But it doesn’t have to take you that long.

People before profit.

More money into the business owners pocket could be good, if they want to use it to create more impact.

But if it’s just to buy fancier things and live a flashier lifestyle - it is greed.

The real ones are going to be the ones that remember we are human.

They will remember we all are doing our best to provide, to have purpose, to have meaning.

If jobs keep getting taken, is it really serving us?

What is the real cost here?

True embodied, grounded leaders, who are operating from alignment and truth aren’t going to be dropping full teams so they can make more money.

And anyone who wants to sell a solution to a company to slide in, take a piece of the pie and make a whole lot of people lose their jobs – is not someone I want to be around. If they can sleep at night after putting a bunch of people into a panic, then they are what is wrong with this world.

Be the change you want to see.

Integrity and abundance is all about living in a way where you believe you can achieve your dreams without the expense of others.

If you have to step on others to get ahead or throw people under the bus, then you do you but what goes around comes around.

Give first. Give without expectation. Serve. Share your light.

The world needs true leaders now more than ever.

Coaching doesn’t have to cost thousands. Yea we could charge an arm and a leg so you feel like you put something on the line but my goal isn’t to put you into pain to drive you…

And there are also no contracts. I say ‘16 week minimum’ but do I hold people to this? No. People may say, ‘Connor this isn’t good business’ but then why is my retention rate so high? Most of my clients who stay past their first month stay for a year or more.

I’m not going to force you to do something or stay doing something you don’t actually want to do.

Which is why we get clear in what you actually want at the beginning. And if I think I can help, I will. And if not, I’ll let you know.

I am selective with who I work with, just as you should be too.

Injuries get a bad rep 🙄

For many, it provides a space to pause and reflect rather than constantly being go go go all the time.

I remember the very moment my leg went snap. It was like I was shot down. I immediately crawled off the field and knew it wasn’t good.

What I didn’t know was how my life was about to change.

New city.
New job.
New outlook on life.

My mind was opened.

The 10 months of rehab lead me to wanting to leave the Air Force to help others get back to doing the things they love.

I enrolled in Uni to study Physio, but I became a Personal Trainer instead because I was about to move to Wales.

Without that injury I wouldn’t have gone on the journey of self-discovery and be where I am today.

This is why Stay True To You was born. At every hurdle, I asked myself, ‘what do I really want?’ ‘What does my heart want?’ And it hasn’t lead me astray.

And now I use this as the core philosophy of my coaching. Using health and fitness as a personal development tool to realign with your true self.

Because from there, you shift into creation from a grounded place of self-awareness.

No more searching for something outside of you. The answers are within.

You don’t have to wait for a crisis to make the shift, you can start now. And if you need help, this is the work I do, just flick me a message to dive in 😎

Life is more fun when you are aligned. It feels less like force and more like flow. And the results are 10x greater and more sustainable and you also don’t have to worry about losing anything.. because all you need is your inner guidance and to listen to what your heart is telling you. The joy of life is we have the power to create our own reality.

We have the power of choice.

Whatever choice you make, take ownership of it. Ownership is also your power.

‘I don’t like my current situation but I choose to not change it’ = power.

‘I don’t like my current situation and I can’t change because of xyz’ = no power, and avoidance.

Own being unhealthy. Or own being healthy.

These situations are reflected in every other area of life.

Where else are you outsourcing your power?

Perhaps you struggle with digestion and gut issues – this is directly linked to your solar plexus chakra which is linked to confidence and feeling you have control over your life.

If you don’t feel you have control, you outsource. You have a subconscious belief you can’t change because you lack the power to make the change.

Maybe you need others to make decisions for you because that feels safe.

These are all things we can unlearn. Again, you have the power.

It all starts with believing it is possible.

When I feel stuck, I remind myself, ‘I will figure this out eventually. This situation is temporary. I can learn and keep moving forward. Others have figured this out so why can’t I?’

There are billions of people on this Earth. Many have figured out the solutions to the same problems you are stuck navigating and telling yourself that nothing can change.

Starting with the belief that change is possible (even if you feel delusional at first) is a good place to start.

Because what do you have to lose?

You can be stuck and stay in the same situation.

Or you can be stuck while figuring out a solution.

You have a choice. You have the power.

And it doesn’t have to work. But I’d rather try and fail than not try at all.

You just haven’t figured it out. YET.

What you think you want (what you’re saying you want) vs what you actually want (what your heart knows you want) are two very different motivators for your health and fitness goals.

What you think you want: To lose weight, get jacked, look a certain way.

What you really want: Confidence to attract your dream partner. Self-belief. Self-worth. To feel loved, connection.

Then shaping this into a dream which is sustainable long term.

‘My dream is to become my healthiest and best version of for myself so I can attract the partner of my dreams and live a life where I can still be active when I am 100 years old.’

This is a lot different to just wanting to get fit to attract a partner.

One is about creating a long term identity. A new version of you.

One is temporary. When you attract the partner, will you let it slip?

This is what keeps people in cycles. Always having to start over rather than just becoming a healthy person. A fit person.

The shift you need to make is creating stronger reasons for the journey. This will also show up in other areas of your life.

Your job. Relationships. Money. Can’t quite get ahead financially? Relationships keep failing? Struggling to progress in your career?

The patterns are the same when it comes to your health.

This is why I combine fitness with mindset coaching to help my clients achieve sustainable results long term with their health.

You can aim for 6 packs, big arms, big b***y. Or you can focus on becoming a healthy human. The paradox is those things naturally come anyway 😉

Our nervous system will reject anything that doesn’t feel safe (which is pretty cool). Our nervous system is like a friend who is always looking out for us trying to keep us safe, but it is only acting on from the programming it has learnt throughout our lifetime and sometimes this actually holds us back from our true potential.

Also, when things come easy, we overlook them because we have an issue with self-worth and receiving.. because we subconsciously feel that we don’t deserve it.

Learn about intrinsic motivation. This is sustainable. It is for you.

Work on your self-worth wounds.

The things keeping us stuck are deeper than we think, but the cool thing is, you can rewrite these programs if you choose. This is the power of NLP, hypnosis and visualisation.
