Happy Christmas from us at
The Pelvic Space!!!

We had a recharge ourselves at Sense of Self in Collingwood ( minus Ruby - because she was cuddling her new baby girl, Kirstyn cuddling her 6mth old Darcy and Agia celebrating with family in the Northern Rivers)
We’re grateful to all the women who have trusted us to care for them this year and look forward to offering pelvic education and tender care to many more women next year 💖💖💖

Have you been guided to do the Spinning Babies balance activities?

Do you know why?

Do you know how to do them correctly?

Do you know the benefits of the balance activities in pregnancy and in labour?

Come to our classes and we will demystify the why + the how of jiggling, forward leaning inversion and the side lying release.

We hear & feel & see a lot of challenges experienced by women here at The Pelvic Space.
We’re privileged to be trusted by women.
And sometimes we’ve just gotta free up our own hearts and let the Redwood trees take the energy of these stories from all of the courageous women……

Hannah is a registered midwife, nurse, and mother to two beautiful young children. Starting her nursing career in 2012, she knew she wanted to work with women, and her passion for women's health really took off when she began working as a midwife in 2017.

She brings experience from working within the hospital system, supporting women and families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. After discovering the importance of internal pelvic release work through her own pregnancies, she knew she wanted to undertake the Internal Pelvic Release Work Mentoring Program so she could help share this knowledge and profound work with other women. She is passionate about pelvic health, reducing birth trauma, and supporting women in connecting with some of the most important parts of their bodies.

Whether you are pregnant and preparing for birth, healing from birth, recovering from injury or trauma, or curious about your pelvic goods, Hannah provides a nurturing environment to care for you.

You can book with Hannah via the link in our bio.

Do you have a droop or a prolapse of your pelvic organs?

Did you know that pelvic organ prolapse doesn’t necessarily mean you have ‘weak’ pelvic floor muscles?

All the emphasis is on these muscles being strong but there is way more involved with droops or prolapse. The womb is also supported by cervical ligaments……..sadly they don’t get talked about. These ligaments can get damaged or overawed from tough birth, lack of postnatal rest and different life activities.
There is also the involvement of the bowel falling into pockets of space in the pelvis that it shouldn’t…..that puts undue pressure on the bladder and the womb.

At The Pelvic Space we can work with these ligaments, muscles and fascia giving them a ‘zhuzh up’. Flow and drainage into these tissues can be improved & so function is improved. Fiona, Lani and Olivia have all done extra studies gaining skills in supporting balance with the other organs that can create the pressure on the womb and bladder.

We have appointments available in November and December. You can book via the link in our bio.

Common reasons for stalls in your labour?

Sometimes labour stalls because a mother is upset by a care provider…..adrenaline kicks up…..oxytocin goes down…..labour stalls.

Another reason for labour stalling is when the baby can’t move past tight connective tissues in mother’s pelvis. Babies rotate or spiral through the pelvis…..it’s quite a journey. Tight tissues can act like a road block to the baby so the little one either has to bully past it, back up and go around the other way or stay stuck. And when a baby is stuck we commonly see surgical births.

We offer a solution. The soft tissues of the pelvis can be easily worked with in pregnancy via the va**na. Through touch we invite the soft tissues to sigh and then mother has more space.

Internal Pelvic Release Work isn’t saying you’re not capable of birthing your baby……
the work helps you reach their anatomical potential and leads to less trauma.

We have appointments available in November and December. Book via the link in our bio.

What are symptoms of having a hypertonic pelvic floor? How does Internal Pelvic Release Work help?

I often think they should change the word ‘hypertonic’ to ‘hypertensive’. Tone is a state of unhindered elasticity……it’s how healthy fibres are.
Tension is stuck…..it can’t go tighter…..it can’t soften.

When the pelvic floor is ‘hypertonic’ women often feel pain in their pelvis.
They are often aware that they can’t let the muscles release at all or with any ease. They are often incontinent of urine with sneezing, coughing, running, lifting weights.

IPRW works to invite these muscles to ‘stand down’....’take a break’.....’soften’.
We work gently but deliberately with the soft tissues of the pelvis inviting them to experience a state of relaxation.

Endo is a big one.

Women with endometriosis suffer immensely.

Laparoscopies are the medical route normally taken to remove the endometriosis tissue but suffering leads to tension, and laparoscopies lead to tension and scars.

IPRW (Internal Pelvic Release Work) can support a woman dealing with tension and scars. Through this gentle practice, softness can be rediscovered, and balance reclaimed.

If you have endometriosis we would love to care for you. We have appointments available in August. You can book via the link in our bio.
