Sharing content online strengthens our identity, culture and connections with each other. But not when it hurts us or mob. 💔

Once something is posted online, it's there for everyone to see. Before you post next time, ask yourself:

👩🏾‍💻Why do I want to share this online?

🤳🏾 Am I being respectful, or will it stir up trouble?

📲 Will people be interested?

🌐 Is the other person OK if I share a video or photo of them on the internet?

Find out more about online safety for mob here: here: http://eSafety.gov.au/first-nations eSafety Commissioner

Timely information!

We know mob are engaged and creative in online spaces 🎨 🎶

We also know that people direct online hate at First Nations people at more than double the national average.

There's no place for abuse online – if you witness it, don’t just let it slide.

Be an upstander, rather than a bystander. Support the person being abused and let them know them know help is available, including from eSafety.

You can be part of creating a positive cultural change 🙌

Great choice!

We are very proud to announce we 'Changed the Date' to recognise MABO DAY (3rd June) as a public holiday, replacing Australia Day (26th Jan). Always was, always will be Aboriginal Land.

This decision was made by consensus with Board Directors, Staff and clients/families. We utilised the resources provided by http://www.changeitourselves.com.au/ to ensure we met obligations under the Fair Work Act.

YOU CAN CHANGE THE DATE TOO!

So great to read. Well done DJARINDJIN COMMUNITY!

DJARINDJIN COMMUNITY HITS 82% VACCINATED 🤟
Djarindjin chairman Brian Lee has congratulated residents and medical staff for achieving an 80% vaccination rate for eligible adults this week.

It's the target set by the Australian Government to start allowing lockdown and travel restrictions to lift.

The Djarindjin community is located on Bardi and Jawi country on coastline north of Broome.

Brian Lee says staff at the WA Country Health clinic worked well with Aboriginal health services and community leaders to spread the word about the importance of getting the vaccine.

"I'm pretty impressed with how our mob have gone about getting vaccinated in the communities here," he told ABC Kimberley.

"I think the clinic staff put the word around about when the nurses were visiting to do the injections, and in the first week they got twenty or so people.

"And then after that it snowballed, and people thought, 'oh well we may as well get it over and done with'.

"I'm really proud of how people have accepted it and got it done."

Mr Lee said a few people remain hesitant due to concern about blood clots, but he's been reminding them they're more likely to die in a car crash.

And the prospect of reopening the communities on the Dampier Peninsula has been an added incentive.

"I don't think life will ever totally return totally to normal, but we're looking forward to opening up," he said.

"I think once we start to see 80% plus vaccinated around the place, then we'll start to see a whole lot more movement of people up this way."

He says the community is now aiming for 100% vaccination for those eligible.

Well done Djdarindjin! How is your community going when it comes to COVID vaccinations?

Thanks for the post B Corporation: Australia & New Zealand. About to begin our fourth certification. Excited to see what we learn this time around and whether we can increase our score!

"As we begin our 8th year as a B Corp, we can clearly say that being a B Corp is part of our DNA. Being a founding Australian B Corp back in 2013 was a proud moment for a small start up like ours, and we love being part of the community." 🧡

As one of our founding B Corps in Australia and New Zealand, Hitnet has been a pioneer in doing better business for a better world. The Tech for Good company is completing the B Impact Assessment for the fourth (!) time this year and has been named a global Best for the World honouree.

We're so impressed and inspired that they took the leap over seven years ago. 🙌
