A year ago I spent Easter in Tokyo, Japan. It seems like such a long time ago now!
Tokyo Union Church is the largest Christian church in Japan, and embraces all arms of Christianity.
The stained glass colours and floral decorations on the cross were just so beautiful, like many things in Japan.
The funniest thing of all was finding the church located in the heart of Harajuku, next door to Louis Vuitton and Fendi.
Ahh..the unique blend of consumerism meets Christianity.
Just another thing to adore about Japan. 🥰

Getting cheap cosmetic treatments somewhere 'discreet'?
It may well be that what's on offer isn't actually what you think it is.
The TGA has issued multiple warnings to health practitioners over the last year, as Border Force customs agents find increasing amounts of counterfeit parallel imports. All of it ordered online. The outer packaging looks fairly convincing, the bottles inside less so.

And this week, I've received an email about counterfeit weight loss injections circulating too! Ugh!

Funny how they haven't mentioned that the TGA sent health alert emails to every dr around Australia last year, warning about a flurry of illegally imported counterfeit Botox coming in from black market sources.

I'm guessing those ultra cheap prices might have a variety of origins.

Please be careful out there, regardless of your age demographic. It really is a cosmetic jungle!

Well this makes no sense at all from a physics, or filler, point of view.
Someone using fillers for p***s enhancement pre uniform fitting, & thinking it will improve the aerodynamics of their skijump suit is really "missing the point". LOL. 😂 But I'm sure they're having a good time once they recover from the pain. 🙄

What a crazy hot day it is!

If you're struggling to cool down, try a pre- chilled sheet mask, especially useful with a fan nearby. Then massage the excess product into the entire face & decolletage area. Keep fanning. If it dries too quickly, reactivate with a spritz of Avene water. Bliss!

The smoke was everywhere today, all day, even though we were 200km away from the devastation.
Thinking so much of everyone in regional Victoria today & tonight. It will be a tense night for many with the wind change opening up many new fronts.
And yes, these catastrophic risk days bring back so many deeply engraved memories. Of Ash Wednesday and Black Saturday in particular.
Of Marysville, and what were happy memories of exploring the rare native beech forest of Lady Talbot Drive. The mechanical toy shop in the main street, never rebuilt after Black Saturday.

Wondering how well your SPF50+ sunscreen works?

The Visia device was originally invented by Proctor&Gamble to objectively test sunscreens under development. It's still a great device for reviewing sunscreen effectiveness, application technique, and durability of sunscreen effectiveness, amongst many other uses.

In this example, my teenage son demonstrates that his sloppy application of La Roche Posay Anthelios liquid SPF50+ has caused patchy coverage on his face. 🧐 😁
The photo was taken 5hrs after application, in which time he'd been on a one hour run at the beach, eaten lunch, then played basketball on an outdoor court for 1.5hrs.
So we can see in the image that the resulting sun protected areas (the darker areas) are not even across his face, especially on the forehead and perioral areas.
Importantly, even on the areas where he did apply the sunscreen, we can see that the protection is wearing off and that his skin features are becoming visible through the darker zones.

This is also a great reminder that chemically based sunscreens like LRP Anthelios are quickly broken down by exposure to UV light, so need to be reapplied after 2hrs of vigorous exercise or outdoor exposure.

In 2025, a Choice independent review gave one of these sunscreens a SPF rating of 4, the other 50+. This is what they look like under a UV light, each product applied to only one side of the face. Can you tell the difference?

The image on the left is the now recalled Ultraviolette Lean Screen SPF 50+ (found in one batch to be only SPF4)
The image on the right is the Mecca To Save Face SPF 50+.

Confused? Yep. These images clearly show that both products have a very high level of sun protection. A product of spf4 would not appear dark under a UV light source..we would expect to see through it and identify underlying skin features.

Interesting cases from 2025.

#1 The "traumatic" nail problems.

Do you have feet & toenail problems that no-one has been able to help with? Know someone who needs to be tagged?

Skin Temple deals with a wide variety of skin & nail problems, including fungal nail infections like this one of nearly 10yrs duration. DrT honestly wasn't sure that she could save the patient's toenails from being permanently deformed, but they're looking fabulous already. 🙂🙂🙂

And yes, getting rid of this problem, whilst very slow & requiring multiple rounds of testing & treatment, has been a life changing journey for this busy young mum. Another 3months of treatment & nail growth, & a hygienic pedicure is waiting as the reward!
