Another great chat with Julie

Standing at the fridge not even knowing what you’re looking for?

That’s not a willpower problem. That’s your nervous system trying to find its way back to calm.

In this episode of Beyond the Mirror, Julie and I talk about what’s really going on when you can’t switch off, and what you can actually do about it.

5 things people get wrong about lymphatic drainage:

1. Lymphatic drainage is not just about “detoxing.”
Your lymphatic system plays a key role in fluid balance, circulation and tissue health.

2. Feeling puffy or heavy isn’t random.
It’s often linked to how well your lymphatic system is moving fluid through the body.

3. Not all lymphatic treatments are the same.
Some are very gentle and manual - others (like Endermologie) use mechanical stimulation to enhance flow more efficiently. Still gentle, but more effective.

4. It’s not just for post-surgery.
It can help with everyday concerns like fluid retention, heavy legs and hormonal changes.

5. You don’t need to feel unwell for it to help.
Most people simply feel lighter, more comfortable and less congested.

This is something I work with every day in clinic.

If you’ve been wondering whether lymphatic drainage might help - I’m always happy to chat.

Thanks to for the reel 🙏

Fibroblasts: The architects of your skin. 🧬

At the heart of the dermis, fibroblasts synthesize and organize the essential components of the extracellular matrix: collagen, elastin, and proteoglycans.

This biological architecture is what gives the skin its density, strength, and resilience.

Over time, however, fibroblast activity naturally declines. The dermal matrix begins to deteriorate, synthesis slows down, and collagen breakdown accelerates.

Understanding fibroblasts means understanding the very balance of your skin.

There’s not a woman over 35 who isn’t already aware that skin changes over time. By the time we’re in our 40s we’re already bombarded with products, at home devices, a myriad of facial techniques and goodness knows what else – all seeking to pause, or even “reverse” ageing.

I’m an advocate for stepping back and examining what’s happening to our skin at this stage in our lives. Peri-menopause can start anywhere from 35(ish) onwards and it’s this fluctuation in hormones that’s responsible for the deterioration in skin tone. Over time, the production of the building blocks that keeps skin fresh and bouncy (i.e. collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid) declines.

This will happen to everyone, no matter their lifestyle choices. Though we know that protecting skin from sun damage, staying hydrated, eating a nutritious diet, avoiding smoking and alcohol and managing stress will all help preserve our skin’s health.

We hear about a myriad of treatments: microneedling, chemical peels, lasers, LEDs, anti-wrinkle injections, fillers, energy devices like radio frequency and ultrasound, and so much more. 🤯 Each can be useful when used judiciously, but all carry a deal of risk.

Then there’s Endermologie. Completely risk free.

Scientifically proven to boost your own natural production of collagen, hyaluronic acid and elastin all while supporting blood and lymphatic circulation for healthier, glowing skin.

If you’d like to try it – just book in for your Consultation & Discovery treatment.

Considering Body Contouring?

Right now, there’s a huge number of devices on the market claiming to deliver safe, non-invasive results for body contouring – i.e. targeting stubborn areas of fat.

But many of these are riskier than you may think, causing side effects like burns, tissue damage causing indentations, skin laxity, or the dreaded PAH (paradoxical adipose hyperplasia).

And many more are simply ineffective.

That’s because, in most cases, they don’t address the cause of the fat accumulation.

Stubborn fat can occur because of:
• fluid retention
• slower circulation
• tissue tone
Or, occur as a physiological condition such as lipoedema or due to some medications that affect metabolism or fluid balance (including corticosteroids and some hormonal treatments).

What’s often overlooked is that fat tissue is metabolically active and influenced by circulation, hormones and inflammatory processes.

If these aren’t addressed, results are often short-lived or inconsistent.

Endermologie supports safe, clinically-proven and natural reshaping - not quick fixes.

If you’re considering body contouring, it’s worth understanding what’s actually driving the concern first.
Endermologie offers a safe, physiologically supportive starting point - feel free to reach out or book a consultation.

Cellulite is normal - most women have it.

Many people still think it’s directly related to fat accumulation and weight gain. And although adipose cellulite is linked to fat, it’s not the only cause of cellulite.

Cellulite can be classified into 3 different types:
- Adipose cellulite
- Aqueous cellulite
- Fibrotic cellulite

This explains why cellulite can also happen in women with very low body fat – because it’s influenced by circulation, fluid movement and skin quality.

And sometimes there’s more going on beneath the surface that might be more than cellulite. Conditions like lipoedema are often confused with cellulite but require a different approach.

It’s this deeper understanding that caused LPG, the makers of Endermologie to develop the technology and techniques to tackle this problem.

Endermologie supports:
• circulation
• lymphatic flow
• smoother, more supple skin

A course of Endermologie treatments results in gradual, natural change with no risk and plenty of other benefits.

This article discussed cellulite and viable treatments in greater depth: https://peninsulaendermologie.com/resources/cellulite-what-really-works

If cellulite is something you’ve been wanting to address, but you’re not interested in aggressive or high-risk treatments, Endermologie is a very safe place to start.

You can book a Consultation & Discovery treatment via the website.

That was FLIPPING AMAZING!

I have been itching to get my hands on the latest LPG Endermologie device since it arrived in Australia last year. And it finally happened this weekend.

Let me tell you - it did NOT disappoint! I’ve already fallen head over heels with the LPG INFINITY.

(Just terribly sad that I couldn’t squirrel it away in my hand luggage and bring it back to Melbourne with me. Cue intense manifesting…🙌🏻)

My head and heart are full after 2 days of intensive training. I loved learning to navigate the new features and deepening my understanding of both aesthetic and medical protocols.

I’m so grateful to the team at .aesthetics for facilitating this advanced training. In particular, Paul Sewell for giving up his weekend to make sure we had everything we needed and safely returning me to the airport. Matty Bell for his commitment to improving the national recognition of this amazing technology. Nathan Gruscott for coordinating flights etc. and Daniel Parshotam for getting us all set up and ready to go.

Also to Laura and Lauren () for tusting us with your care.

And last, but never least .therapist - I always come away from our training sessions feeling supported, inspired and more confident than ever in Endermologie’s ability to change lives. I can’t thank you enough. 🙌🏻

Exciting weekend adventure from rainy Melbourne to sunny Sydney.

But I wasn’t here for the weather...my purpose was INFINITELY more exciting than that!

Can you guess the reason for my trip?

5 things I wish people knew about Endermologie:

1. It’s not just for cellulite.
Endermologie lymphatic flow, circulation and connective tissue function - which is why it’s also used for fluid retention, recovery and overall tissue health.

2. Results aren’t about forcing change.
Endermologie works by mechanically stimulating the skin and underlying tissues, encouraging the body to function more efficiently.

3. It’s completely non-invasive and risk-free
No needles, no heat, no freezing, no downtime and no scary side effects

4. People love how it makes them feel just as much as how it makes them look.
Endermologie helps relieve pain and muscle tension and helps people feel lighter and less puffy

5. It works best as a course.
Like exercise or skin care, consistency matters. The goal is gradual, natural improvement over time.

If you’re curious, I’m always happy to explain how it works or whether it’s right for you.
