I know I haven't mentioned lymphodema ('lymphedema' if you're American) on here in a while, but it's a topic of conversation that happens quite often in clinic.

There are different types of lymphoedema and for many people conservative management (e.g. compression, lymphatic drainage - either manually or using Endermologie, compressive pumps etc.) is the mainstay of treatment. But, some people may be candidates for surgery.

Further to my last post… clearly I had no idea who I was following until this evening. I think a client asked about the products this person sells and I followed. My algorithm probably blocked everything - thank you Meta! 😂

Turns out this person has a long history of making profit out of fear and misinformation. This list of horrors was from 5 mins of scrolling - I blocked her pretty quick when I saw which rabbit hole I’d dived into.

I’m sharing this because it’s a reminder of how NOT to speak to customers or make health claims.

Suggesting that ‘you’ll get cancer’ if you don’t use a specific product is fear-mongering and inappropriate.

True health advice should be rooted in integrity, compassion, and evidence – not scare tactics. Let’s prioritise people over profits.

I’ve been concerned about the health claims this individual makes which go well beyond widely accepted medical standard and this fear-based marketing is simply UNACCEPTABLE.
