At The Speech Tree we’ve got available spots open in our Sprouts and Seedlings groups! These sessions are all about play-based learning, confidence building and connection.

These run weekly during school term, 2–3 hour drop-off sessions. Perfect for little ones ready to grow.

Dungeons and Dragons: A Red Dragon’s Tale – A LEGO Adventure was our second holiday program for Term 2. Some of our clients joined two of our amazing speech pathologists for a morning of fun casting spells, battling mythical creatures and working together to take down the ferocious dragon. 🐉 🎲

On Monday we kicked off our Term 2 holiday programs with Adopt-a-Pup... what a paw-some day it was! 🐾

The fun began as each child pulled a number from a hat, leading them to a mysterious box. Inside? Their very own adorable puppy, complete with a heartwarming backstory waiting to be discovered.

But before any adoptions could happen, the kids had lots of puppy prep ahead. They designed colourful collars and gave their furry friend the perfect name. Then it was time to decorate the pup’s little house, turning it into a cosy, personalised home.

At the grooming station, the puppies were pampered and styled to perfection with matching leads and bandanas. A quick visit to the toy vet hospital made sure each pup was happy, healthy and ready for cuddles.

With tails wagging and tummies rumbling, the children went on a bone hunt to make sure their pup had a belly full of treats before heading home.

To wrap up the day, each proud new pet owner received an official adoption certificate, signed with love...and a sweet polaroid photo to remember the moment they met their new best friend! 🐶🤍🎁

At the start of June, we welcomed Maia, who has joined us on her student placement at The Speech Tree. It has been great getting to know her and we're looking forward to the rest of her time with us! Read below to hear from Maia.

Hi, I’m Maia! I’m currently studying Allied Health Assistance with Foundation Education, and absolutely loving my placement journey so far! 

Helping others has always been a big part of who I am, and I’m working toward my goal of becoming a Speech Pathologist. I’ve been coaching kids’ sports for the past 6 years, and it’s in those moments that my passion for supporting children in their communication really came to life. 

I’m loving my time at The Speech Tree, and the hands-on experience has been nothing short of inspiring. I’ve gained so much insight into what it truly means to make a difference through speech and language support and it’s only made me more excited for what’s ahead!

Our 3-year-old Sprouts have had fun diving into our theme Under the Sea this past fortnight. We read the wonderful book 'In The Rockpool' by Andrea Rowe & Hannah Sommerville and then played in our very own rockpool!

So proud to be part of this moment. 💛

Last week, I had the privilege of attending the launch of All Brains Are Different - a stunning new children's book by , celebrating neurodiversity and inclusion.

As an AuDHD speech pathologist and a long-time collaborator with Yellow Ladybugs , I've seen firsthand the incredible advocacy, community, and heart that this organisation brings to the neurodivergent community.

This book is not just a resource - it's a mirror, a celebration, and a conversation starter. As a parent, I'm so grateful to now have something like this to read with my own child - so they can grow up understanding and appreciating the beautiful diversity of brains in our world.

Thank you Yellow Ladybugs for continuing to lead with courage, creativity and compassion. Huge congratulations to everyone involved. You've created something truly special!
