Why is getting vaccinated important?
Getting yourself and/or your children vaccinated is the most effective protection against COVID-19 and Influenza.
It is safe to have your COVID and Flu vaccines at the same time.
All adults are recommended to have three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine to strengthen immunity and protection.
Who requires a fourth (winter) dose?
A fourth (winter) dose is recommended for those who received their 3rd dose at least 4 months ago, and who are:
⬥ Aged over 65 years
⬥ Living in aged care/disability facilities
⬥ Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders and are over 50 years
⬥ Over 16 years and severely immunocompromised
How to get a COVID-19 vaccination at home?
Please contact the Hume City Council Access and Support Officer, Jessica Harmer (jessicaha@hume.vic.gov.au) to organise a booking request. Once the booking is made, a trained nurse from DPV Health will come to your home to provide the vaccination. Interpreters are available upon request.
Vaccines for 5–11-year-old children
- COVID-19 vaccinations for children are scientifically tested and safe
- Children in this age group receive a smaller dose of the vaccine than those aged 12+
If you require more information, or have a question about COVID-19, please email covidhelp@hume.vic.gov.au.
