When we gently touch the body with awareness,
everything settles.
We come home.
We arrive.

Happy Birthday mum 🌸

The day my mother died I wrote in my journal, “A serious misfortune of my life has arrived.” I suffered for more than one year after the passing away of my mother. But one night, in the highlands of Vietnam, I was sleeping in the hut in my hermitage. I dreamed of my mother. I saw myself sitting with her, and we were having a wonderful talk. She looked young and beautiful, her hair flowing down. It was so pleasant to sit there and talk to her as if she had never died. When I woke up it was about two in the morning, and I felt very strongly that I had never lost my mother. The impression that my mother was still with me was very clear. I understood then that the idea of having lost my mother was just an idea. It was obvious in that moment that my mother is always alive in me.

I opened the door and went outside. The entire hillside was bathed in moonlight. It was a hill covered with tea plants, and my hut was set behind the temple halfway up. Walking slowly in the moonlight through the rows of tea plants, I noticed my mother was still with me. She was the moonlight caressing me as she had done so often, very tender, very sweet... wonderful! Each time my feet touched the earth I knew my mother was there with me. I knew this body was not mine but a living continuation of my mother and my father and my grandparents and great-grandparents. Of all my ancestors. Those feet that I saw as “my” feet were actually “our” feet. Together my mother and I were leaving footprints in the damp soil.

From that moment on, the idea that I had lost my mother no longer existed. All I had to do was look at the palm of my hand, feel the breeze on my face or the earth under my feet to remember that my mother is always with me, available at any time.

Today, I continue to remind myself:
Energy follows the mind.
Checking in regularly is essential… Where is my mind right now?
Caught in a thought and the story I’ve built from it—or resting in awareness?

Just as we give the car we drive regular servicing to take us safely from A to B, we must give our bodies the right conditions to walk our path.

I was told that without medication, I might not live to see my grandchildren grow.
My doctor is my inner heart—the medicine within that space of stillness, rest, and presence.
I continue trusting the connections that unfold in each moment.

Several years without Western medication, I’ve learned to trust the body, nurture the mind, and rest in the wisdom of nature.
Today feels joyous, alive, and whole. I’m grateful for this life experience.
I’m not perfect—I still fall, but I bounce back quicker.

Nature knows best 🌿✨

“The only difference between a good day and a bad day is your attitude.” – Dennis S. Brown

Over the past couple of years, my focus has been on supporting my family, which has meant fewer client sessions and teachings. But that doesn’t mean the practice stops there…

I’ve been deeply honoured to hold space for friends and family when called upon, and I continue to cherish our weekly meditation nights—beautiful gatherings filled with deep practice, meaningful conversations, and shared laughter with wonderful friends and companions.

When we keep our hearts open, Reiki becomes a practice of wholeness—one that touches not only those closest to us, but also those we may never even realise. It’s about trusting the seen and the unseen, the knowing and the not-knowing.

In many ways, I feel Reiki has drifted from its true essence. At its heart, it is a soulful practice of inviting happiness through gratitude, rather than focusing solely on sensing or seeing energy. Remembering our light isn’t always easy, which is why these gentle, mind-focused practices matter so deeply.

Reiki is magical—not just as a hands-on practice, but as a way of resting in the deep, heartful space within us that is always open. It’s also about accepting things exactly as they are… warm, tender, and full of laughter.

Reiki is a gentle, natural practice that invites us to return again and again to presence, deep rest, and inner stillness. At Heart of Reiki, sessions are offered as a continuation of practice—an opportunity to settle the mind, soften the body, and allow Reiki to flow naturally.

Many students come not to do more, but to rest in the practice itself. Each session supports clarity, balance, and a deepening trust in simplicity, helping us reconnect with the peace and wholeness that are always here.

You are warmly welcome to receive a Reiki session, or to continue learning the art of Reiki as a living practice.

Sitting in quiet, we remember:

Everyone we meet is a teacher.
Awakening is realised within, through our own practice.

Kindness heals — it takes strength and a clear voice.

Let the practice simply be: being kind to ourselves and others.

Thank you Amanda for this kind offering..

Hello beautiful hearts,

A year of new beginnings and the Fire Horse — a reminder as we stay rooted in our hara, we deepen our way of being. The fire gently clears what no longer serves.

Embracing our true selves, in all our complexity, is the essence of spiritual practice.
This journey, though challenging, requires remarkable strength and courage, and is one that only you can walk.

St Kilda Beach 🌊

The pelican was simply mesmerising — resting in the ocean, quietly being for what felt like a long time.
I sat too, observing that same beingness, letting it wash through me 🙏
