Q: Lisa, my husband says yoga is “just stretching” and wants to know why I need to go three times a week. What should I tell him?

A: Tell him you’re doing preventive maintenance.Three classes a week keeps you sane, supple, less shouty, and more likely to tolerate his commentary on yoga.
Also: yoga is not “just stretching.”
If it were, we’d all be extremely zen in Lycra, and that’s clearly not the case.
Yoga is nervous-system care, joint health, emotional regulation, strength, breathwork, and occasionally, a deeply spiritual moment where you realise you left the oven on.
Keep going. He’ll survive.

🌿 Our favourite way to begin the year is coming back in 2026, the Shoreham Reset and Renew Retreat from 20 to 22 February 🌿

There is a reason we keep returning to this beautiful pocket of the Mornington Peninsula: Shoreham has a magic all of its own. Some days your practice might feel spacious and strong. Other days you might soften, rest longer, or simply breathe. Both are yoga.

Honouring your energy and capacity isn’t a sign of weakness. It’s a mark of wisdom. It’s how we build sustainability, resilience, and a practice that supports you for decades, not just for a season.

At Seed, we’re not chasing intensity or performance. We’re building steadiness, strength, and connection that lasts. We’ll always encourage you to notice, to adapt, and to meet yourself where you are with honesty and care.
