Today is IDAHOBIT which is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia.
This May 17th marks the 36th anniversary since homosexuality was removed from the World Health Organisation's classification of diseases.
2 in 3 LGBTQIA+ youth have faced abuse due to their sexuality, and 35% of LGBTQIA+ Australians have experienced verbal abuse due to their sexuality in the last 12 months.
LGBTQIA+ folks are also more likely to experience workplace and housing discrimination.
Access to culturally sensitive healthcare, safety, work and housing are all human rights.
Whether it's in healthcare, at work or school, or just when out and about, everyone deserves to feel safe, respected and included.
At Simply Stronger, it's important to us to provide a safe and inclusive space in a time where movement and healthcare is so gatekept from the LGBTQIA+ community. Everyone needs and deserves to move, and to be supported in their health and wellbeing.
