INNER WILD - Conscious Movement The formal practice of Authentic Movement is a dyadic process that involves a mover and a witness and a reflective dialogue.

INNER WILD classes are a refreshing antidote to the stress of busy modern life - a safe and creative space to get grounded, move, discover, rest, play, tap into the body's wisdom and feel more connected. The term 'authentic movement' is used to describe a form of dance or physical movement that is much like active imagination being spontaneously expressed through the body. It sees the body as the

primary guide to the unconscious and is valuable as a meditative practice, a therapeutic tool, artistic inspiration and support, mind-body integration and for cultivating clear self-awareness. It can also be practiced for the experience of sheer enjoyment, freedom and playfulness.

'....the discipline of Authentic Movement is defined by the relationship between a person moving and a person witnessing that movement..... movers work with eyes closed, slowly bringing their attention inward as their movement becomes highly specific to their own nature and history. Witnesses are invited to focus not only on what the mover is doing, but on their own inner experience in the presence of the mover. As the witness owns projections, judgments and interpretations, the mover is increasingly free to risk, honoring the deepening need to follow movement impulses which are born out of the unconscious. As the body finds form for the expression of what is at first formless material. personal consciousness evolves.'
