Peace is the foundation of human dignity, health, and survival. Without peace, humanitarian needs cannot be met. Without safety, healthcare systems cannot function. And without protection, nurses, and health workers on the frontlines cannot deliver life-saving care.

Healthy people are productive people. As the debate over national productivity builds momentum, ANMF Federal Secretary Annie Butler makes the case for governments to rethink productivity in health by valuing the workforce as a vital investment, and that systemic change to support a shorter work week could ease burnout for nurses, midwives and care workers, improving care for patients.

It's OK to give yourself permission to offer care and compassion to yourself.
In fact, many studies show that nurses, midwives, and care workers who regularly practice self-care and self-compassion are better equipped to continue providing safe, high-quality, and compassionate care to their patients.
Creating a culture of care and compassion for yourself, helps you to create that for others.
This International Self-Compassion Day, take a moment to acknowledge how you feel without judgement and offer yourself the kindness, understanding and compassion you need to navigate the situation. Your wellbeing matters too. 🌸
