👓 Trifocal Glasses:
A Classic Solution That Still Has Its Place

While most people today use progressive lenses, trifocal glasses are still an option we can prescribe when needed.

Trifocals have 3 distinct viewing zones:
• Distance (top)
• Intermediate (middle – often for computer or dashboard)
• Near (bottom – for reading)

We recently made a new pair of trifocals for a patient who prefers the clear, defined zones rather than a gradual progressive design, allowing them to have more precise vision at the specific working distances they prefer.

At our practice, we always tailor the solution to the individual.

As children grow, their eyes can grow too long too quickly. When the eye becomes excessively long (often beyond ~26mm), the lifetime risk of conditions like retinal disease, glaucoma and vision impairment increases.

That’s why monitoring axial length (the length of the eyeball) is considered the gold standard in modern myopia management. By carefully tracking eye growth, we can intervene early and help slow progression to protecting long-term eye health.

At our clinic, we use advanced technology to precisely measure and monitor axial length as part of personalised myopia care.
