Feel inspired on and off your mat. A supportive and friendly class to help you gently tone, improve flexibility and strengthen your body, ease mental tension and sooth the mind. Everyone can practice yoga, regardless of age, experience or level of flexibility. Begin with gentle movements, followed by postures to make you strong then breathing techniques that can energise or relax, meditation to calm the mind followed by Yoga Nidra a deep relaxation. Yoga is about living in the moment whether in class or in everyday life. We warmly invite you to join us for Snuggle & Stretch, a heartwarming winter Community Yoga session hosted by The Young Yogis of Grounded with Gratitude Yoga.
🧘‍♀️✨ This is more than just a yoga class – it’s a gathering of warmth, connection, relaxation, and compassion.

Event Details:

📅 Date: Saturday, July 12, 2025
🕙 Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
📍 Venue: Heimat Centre, 125 George Street, Doncaster East
💛 Entry: By donation – all proceeds will go towards supporting a local family in need.

This cosy session is designed for all ages and abilities. This Community Event will include gentle yoga, meditation, and plenty of heartwarming moments. Come dressed in your comfiest winter gear — think pyjamas, warm socks, blankets, and even soft toys!

We might initially come to a Yoga class for the physical benefits. But the reason so many of us stay is because there’s something more at work here….
 
I am so excited to explore the deeper aspects of yoga beyond postures with you this term.  I was inspired by my favourite book “Yoga of the Heart” by Alice Christensen, which I am now reading for the 3rd time. The book explores Patanjali’s Yama & Niyama (ethical practices) from a heart centred perspective which I absolutely love 🤍

“While postures and breathing are tuning the physical body into shape, a deeper awareness begins to emerge.  When we combine the physical practice with the ethical practice of Yoga, the feelings of inner strength, self confidence and inner peace begins to emerge as the deeper aspect of Yoga starts to reveal itself”

I woke up feeling a little flat this morning. I started feeling lighter and happier when I got on my mat and connected with my lovely yoga students.
I was doing a happy dance when I saw Carol moving so effortlessly and gracefully through her Surya Namaskar (sun salutations). She completed all 12 rounds (6 sets) for the very first time!! 👏🏼👏🏼. She used to doubt that she could ever do it.

Carol signed up for the 2 x 10 challenge this term. This challenge has motivated her to turn up more regularly on her mat, doing 2-3 classes a week. What a difference this has made!! To both her body and her mind. We are all super proud of Carol 👏🏼👏🏼

Every year (except during Covid) the awesome children from my Young Yogis class organise a Community Yoga event to raise funds for a cause close to our hearts. This year we will come together as a community for Bollywood Balance on Sunday 24 Sept at 10am.

Late last year, I met a beautiful woman who works in my favourite restaurant. Her inspiring story touched my heart so deeply. She is a single mother with 3 young children. She left her home country to find a safe space and a better life for herself and her children.

I felt an instant connection when I first met her. I could feel her struggles, despite her bubbly personality and cheery smiles. As she is working 2-3 jobs to make ends meet, her children are being cared for by her aunt who lives far away, which means she can’t see her children often.

She is an amazing cook. The money we raise will help her set up her home catering business and bring her children home. Her eyes filled with tears when I told her about our intention. She was so humbled by our community's support and generosity.

Let’s give this family a helping hand! 🫶🏽

I am introducing the 2X10 Challenge this term to motivate us to keep moving in this cold winter season, and it’s going to be more exciting (and more rewarding) than ever! Join our yoga community of movers and commit to completing 20 classes in 10 weeks from 10 July - 17 Sept 2023.

Just for this challenge, I am offering Unlimited Classes (yes, both online and face to face classes!) at $33 per week.

I read this quote today before my Saturday morning class. I truly understood its meaning when I witnessed Rani so effortlessly complete her 12 rounds of Surya Namaskar for the very first time!!!
Even she didn’t expect it. Her mind and body were in complete harmony.

I simply cannot find words to express the awe, joy, wonder that I felt today.

Rani started her very first yoga class at the tender age of 78. I still remember her asking me 6 years ago if it was too late for her to learn yoga. She absolutely loves her yoga and is very committed to her practice. She attends 6 classes a week, from Gentle Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga to Meditation & Yoga Nidra. She always works to her ability, remembering to practice Sthiram (steadiness) & Sukham (ease).

She inspires our whole yoga community to turn up on our mats regularly with her poise and grace. 🫶🏽

Watch this space for our 2x10 challenge in Term 3 to turn up the heat this winter & to cultivate a regular Yoga practice. Guess who will be on top of the leaderboard. 🫶🏽
